Thanks for that expert review video on biopellets. Its better than R2R or RCs forum because it has references at the end you can actually check, plus Dr. Hovanek has a PhD from UCSB, so hes an expert.

I still dont use biopellets because they havent been proven to be more effective than any other carbon source addition. So its still cheapo vodka for the tank, and me...

Ya honestly with vodka dosing on a regimen or a doser creates great results. Also alk doesn't have to be as tight as with pellets.

Since my vacation is dragging on I thought I'd stir the pot from the biggest blunder I committed. The pic only showed 25% of what I actually killed. I still get a reefer chubby thinking about the rush of pellet craze. What a retard.

What exactly is it about the biopellets that was the cause? Isn't it suppose to be a more convenient way to carbon dosing? Do you think that it caused the alk swings or strips the water too rapidly of nitrates and PO4?

i've heard there is a new product called Nitra-guard and nitra-guard titanium biocubes from Canada that has gotten good reviews from RC. Has anyone tried it?

Simple in My case, I was low nutrient, added a dependent system and fail. Your system has to have food and nutrient to extrapolate. I didn't understand BP or have the bioload to make it work.

After trying every new phase to come out, zeo, bio pellets, vodka, vinegar and having a issues with everyone, back to basics.

I run two skimmers, feed heavy and water changes every two weeks and dosing three part calcium, alk, and mag, going on 1 year, with no issues, knock on wood. I won't even run carbon or gfo!!
