Maybe I'll give that a go first. I did it a few years ago without issue but I feel like I ended up doing flux that time as well.

Kill flow, squirt byropsis and let it sit for a bit? I'm guessing during daylight hours or does that matter?
Yup, kill all flow, squirt, let it sit for about 30 minutes, then you can resume flow. I don't think it matters whether it is during the daylight/night hours, but would think it would be easier to see with light :D.

It did not have any effect on my tank inhabitants, so you might want to try this daily to weekly (depending on how much time you have) for a few weeks and see if it helps. It worked wonders on the green turf algae I had and that stuff is pretty stubborn to eradicate.

The only limitation you have is how much you can dose at any given time. I've read between 1ml/5 gallons to 1ml/10 gallons. Probably start off conservatively and ramp it up if needed.

Hahah true!

Awesome, I'll give it a go.

Kalkwasser is starting to do it's thing. My lows on average were near 7.7-7.8 range so it's slowly starting to rise.

I've converted to a 5g jug that fits perfect under the stand. I fill it with 4 gallons of kalkwasser solution. should give me about 7 days of dosing at 2000 ml a day. I still have my ATO working but I would like to eventually get my kalk to 100% of my daily top off. Currently at 1 tsp per gallon for solution.

Seems to be working well so far. I haven't noticed much of an increase in alk yet, or drop in calcium. Locked in around 8.3 and haven't had to adjust the calcium reactor. My plan is to increase the concentration of kalkwasser solution before ramping up my calcium reactor. Get to full concentration and adjust from there pending ph. I'll just have to keep an eye on my calcium as I go.

I might start dosing it again at night after I get the reboot finished, but I'll hold off for now. I would double check you doser's calibration once a month when dosing kalk, because it only takes one mishap to nuke a tank. I'm not trying to be an alarmist, but it's something you need to stay on top of and monitor.

I hear ya. I'm super paranoid so I've been checking ALK a few times throughout the day. Things are finally doing well, last thing I want to do is mess it up.

I picked up a few new additions from GSC.
BC Angelica - A little more red then I'm used to seeing from pictures online. It'll be interesting to see if it settles in and ends up looking like Battle Coral's pictures

Cherry Coral's Blaze of Glory - It was very bright under all blues and the color looks decent in daylight as well:

Got some cool pieces from minus9 while I was out that way.
A purple based, green polyp abro looking piece. It's going in high light/strong flow to try and keep it thick
Minus9 Abro.jpg

A nice green acropora, looks like it may get some cool blue growth going on.

Grafted montipora cap - I've got a large open space in my front left area where I want to let this grow out. It's very high flow right there. I want to make an elevated platform in the middle and see if I can get RR GoldenRod to grow in the center. It would be a cool contrast.

Very happy to get Vivid's Confetti going again. Thanks again John! My tired ass mounted this with mostly the shaded side up.

Looking good! The abro piece was a sleeper for a long time, then it shot out and started to go nuts. That deep purple base really stands out under the blues and violets. Sorry for the nub of confetti, it's in a weird spot to frag, so I'll get you a bigger chunk when I move everything.

Nah this one’s great. I had it less than a year and had a palm sized colony last time. I wanted to find a spot more upfront but its got a prime light and flow spot right there.

So about 5-6 weeks on this PC Rainbow. It's nothing insane but it sure is nice to see them steadily growing for me.

PC Rainbow-3.jpg

I installed AquaVitro Sentia dosing pump for my kalkwasser. The app is pretty dang easy to use I just wish it mentioned the head rotates opposite of most, that took a few minutes to figure out why it wouldn't prime haha. Great product. It's quite and very easy to mount. The app has worked flawlessly for me. It was very easy to calibrate and set up. I've upped my kalk to full concentration on this last batch and dropped my ml per day way back to 500.

I ended up doing a 1/2 dose of flux HD since I had it on hand. Sure enough, it seems to have worked like a charm and the bryopsis all died off. I did noticed a dip in alk consumption a few days in. Hard to say if that is from the flux or upping the kalkwasser amount. Everything is looking extremely happy at this point.

Newbie: ASD Rainbow Millepora that's been in the tank for 2 or so weeks going strong.

Hyperberry - I keep second guessing this name.

No namer seems to be enjoying the PAR/flow increase. I like where this one is headed
NoNameTongs.jpg

Silly String is starting to hit it's stride
SillyString.jpg

This one is starting to wake up, gain color and for the first time in what seems like forever grow back across the death line

Back in love with this OG Tort now that the Tropics are in the mix again.

ASD Doomsday no longer being choked out by bryopsis
ASDDoomsday.jpg

Cherry Bomb - might be getting a little too much direct flow from my Gyre. Funny little benders in there but growing new nubs so I'll take it.

Looking good! I'm glad you like the Sentia dose, they're a sleeper gem of a dosing system and super easy to use. I thought about keeping my GHL now that I have two sets of Sentia dosers, but I may update the firmware and put it on a shelf for a rainy day? That hyperberry looks great!

Thanks! I'm glad you pointed me in that direction, very easy setup. I just wish I could set a higher reservoir capacity for reminders but that's not a huge deal.

I really like that piece. I need to contact the person I bought it from and make sure that's the name but I'm pretty sure it is.

Did you check the device settings? I though you could put any amount for each?

I’m on RM right now as well. Growth is actually insane. ATM I’m having a cyano issue, bought some bio blocks and will probably start vodka dosing. Let me know if you get any cyano issues with RM

It really does unlock some growth. I'm just starting to see that come around after my second set of corrections.

As far as cyano, I haven't really noticed a connection between dosing and outbreaks? Are you thinking it's one of the traces or dailies that's contributing the issue? I dosed some carbon before but ended up with TN issue, seemed like it was fueling some type of bad bacteria/pathogen. Are you dosing any kind of good bacteria to help outcompete it? I have some green cyano in my refugium but it's low flow and newly added so I've wrote it off as just that.
