Just wondering what do you feed your tangs?
Im feeding mine Algeamax pellets (New Life Spectrum) and TDO Chroma Boost pellets mixed in an auto feeder 4 times a day, frozen PE Mysis shrimp once a day on my weekend days.
Please share your menu for those tangs.

I feed my tangs and extra pellets, frozen food, and Nori sheets. From what I understand, nori will help prevent HLLE disease.

While tangs love frozen food it is like giving candy to kids, as it is not really good for them. Algae is what they eat in the wild. Nori should be a good portion of their diet.

My tangs graze on algae all day long, why make them lazy and give them nori? Kidding, of course, kinda. I stopped feeding nori a long time ago and the only time they get it is when bits of it are in the LRS I feed twice a day. Herbivores should graze as they do in nature, so having plenty of rock and surfaces that have algae growth on them should suffice. I agree that feeding mysis only is not ideal, but they should have access to a variety of food sources, pellets, flakes, frozen and home grown algae on rocks. I think nori curing or stopping HLLE is a mind story, so I would take that with a grain of salt. I think it's okay to feed some nori a couple times a week, but feeding it daily isn't something I would do, especially if you have other algae growing in your tank.

Along with Nori every other day, I feed romaine lettuce. I saw this at a LFS and it worked. Even my wrasses go after it. Daily, I feed the BRS frozen that I made and saw on BRSTV.

Then I just mix it up into a slurry in a cleaned Salifert vial, adding some RODI water. Then let it soak for ~10min to break up the beta glucan powder.

I’m making some now actually.

I agree with you in principle. I just don't really have much algae on my rocks. My tangs and others graze all day, keeping the rockwork clean. HLLE is caused by poor diet primarly. Nori is not the only way to provide the proper diet.

Mine just eats flakes, nori sheets and it’s always picking my rocks clean. Occasionally it’ll steal mysis shrimp from my acans

I agree with ditching mysis or cheap frozen food, but I would include quality frozen food like LRS, as it contains, nori, vitamins, etc. I would use mysis only to get picky eaters going, then move to other quality frozen foods. I haven't bought a package of mysis in years, but LRS does contain some mysis.

Try feeding a small slice of banana to your fish. Just about everything loves it. I don't feed them bananas often, but when i do, the go bananas!

my tang doesnt want to eat nori :( lol
Not all nori is the same. Typically there are 3 kinds of nori sold for feeding our fish, green, brown and red or purple. I find green and brown are much preferred by my fish. Nori from the grocery store can have things added to it. I stoped buying it there as i could not find plain nori any more. Also the larger packs sold by hobby venders are a better deal and the fish prefer them. Garlic extract and vitamins can make nori more atractive to your fish. Like kids tangs are going to eat junk food before what is good for them. Frozen foods are like feeding candy to kids.
