What is the easiest and economical way to getting some cipro?

I want to have some on hand if my yuma or torches started to melt.

Definitely useful to have on hand. I also have a hard time getting it. My wife was successful posting on the neighborhood fFacebook group asking if anyone has an extra pill. 500mg goes pretty far. I believe Dr. Reef still sells it in the medication section of his page.

Make sure you dispose of the water properly, do not dump cipro water down the drain without treating it first.

I just broadcast it straight to the tank so nothing goes to waste.

Curious: why and how to “treat it”?

Antibiotic. So I think it may cause certain bacteria to become anti- resistant if dumped.

Also KFC dip is a place to purchase
I know what it is - have a bottle of it to treat my nems. My question was why do you need to “treat it” before disposal.

"The disposed of antibiotics when not degraded or eliminated during wastewater treatment reach surface water or are passed into the aquatic environment. Even though the concentration of such disposed antibiotics is negligible; such concentrations are equally capable of promoting resistance either by horizontal gene transfer or by modifying targets"

I guess in the amounts we use it might be negligible but the concern is what I stated earlier.

We are talking tossing half a pill into the drain / sewer. I suspect there are many other chemicals more toxic than this?

Regardless, we should be responsible and treat the waste water appropriately. Bleaching the waste water before disposal is pretty standard and something we should do as a hobby when using cipro. Especially since everyone is doing kfc dips and others like it. I think OA may be a better alternative or at least something we should try with certain things. I don't think using cipro "just because" is a good enough reason for its use, especially as a general dip. We're essentially painting ourselves in a corner if we continue to use it as much as we do. I know certain wild nems do well after treatment, but they should only be treated when necessary. Just do the right thing and be responsible.

Is it okay to dump into toilet since that goes into a treatment plant?

I don't think bleach kills antibiotics
