So im fairly comfortable to update my thread. After adding dr tims, 3 small chromis and my father in laws clown pair from his breakdown, my ammonia and nitrites are 0; nitrates are 10. So I believe im cycled. I also finally tossed in some black sand and believe the tank looks better.
After breaking down amd restarting, as well as making some formatioms in my scape, its safe to say I enjoy my tank again. It was discouraging when everything died but a lot of people stepped up to make sure I didn't bow out. So thanks to
Shawn,kyle, cody, Go, robert and omar for not letting me sell.
Mike at SexyCorals for giving me tips or deals on whatever I needed
Robert ar Chance Of Corals for being a valuable resource and guiding me along
Jacob for holding and maintaining my surviving fishes health
James for loaning me his MH so I can setup a coral tank while I restarted my system
And everyone else on SCR who let me know the end result would be worth the effort
And most imporrantly my wife and kids for their patience and support of this hobby.

Couple shots. Diatoms are now slowly beginning to disappear. Params tested: ammonia 0.25 Nitrite and nitrate both 0. Calcium 400. dKh 12. Mag 1500. Been doing 10gal WCs every 3 days to try and get the dkh and ammonia down. I assume the ammonia is from the tangs and their poop.
Livestock consists of:
1 scopas tamg
1 purple tang
1 yellow tang
1 blue tang
2 leopard wrasses
2 chromis
2 oscellaris clowns
1 melanarus (from previous tank)
1 longnose hawk (from previous tank)
1 foxface
CUC is 20 hermits. Ill be adding some snails soon.
