very nice indeed, but have you thought about a bit less rock in the dt? will help with flow (no detritus traps) and imo will help with aesthetics. maybe a few islands with overhangs or caves. either way, nice job.

Does gravity feed the Skimmer sump to the other sump? That's a beastly BM. Sweet.

Nice tank all around. Give us some more info about your plans for equipment and livestock.

Very nice! Sweet deep sand bed! Post a couple closer pictures of the sump / plumbing!
Your wish is my command!

Here is the connection from the skimmer sump to the second (larger sump below). I had to prop the skimmer sump up on the foam blocks because its length is greater than that of the stand itself. The stand has support braces that prevented it from laying straight across so, the elevation helped the sump past the brace. I am also hoping that gravity will aloow the water to go down into the second sump as the first baffle is at a height of 10" which is about an inch shy of the height of the first sumps drain hole.

From that first baffle is the DSB and I am hoping with a 105o GPH there will be a fast laminar flow across that area. That will then lead into the return pump chamber. Also you can see where the drain pipe form the refugium goes straight down into the return pump chamber and sits below the water line to prevent splashing.

Full sump area shot. I may buy more foam pad and cit to size to use as a cover for the sump to help minimize evap. I am waiting on my eshopps drilless float valve to come in. Then Ill have to wire my RO/DI from the garage to the kitchen some how (50 - 100 ft away).

Well the guy was supposed to come today but as usual he is too busy to drive to LB to get water and come by. I have had it. My nice metter is dead. I told him straight up you have a week to deliver my S**t or else the insurance is gonna know that he has not held up the end of his contract and set up the tank and maybe they will hold his payment. Needless to say I am debating to just fill up the tank myself (wife is very upset and I agree cause this shouldnt cost anything out of our pocket to get the tank back up and running but it is) and when he does (if ever) brings water I am gonna get a 275 gallon tote and have him dump it there and Ill use it for my water changes. Needless to say I am on a budget so if I go about getting salt I noticed petsmart has topfin salt now. They have a bucket that makes 150 gallons for $35-$40 I cant remember. Anyways I bought a bag and mixed 5 gallons worth and ran some test and here is what I got:

pH 8.4
Calc 520
dKH 10
Phos 0
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0

I wont be doing sps and to be honest if softies do well with this brand well I may go this route. Dunno I am just fuming right now. I literally wanna go bash this guys face in...

Hey james nice to see it wet. Dude this guy is a joke. If you need some more salt I have some IO salt that will make up 150 gal. If you need it to get things up and going you are more then welcome to come and get it. Just replace it when you can no worries.

Screw that guy. Do what you gotta do to make sure you get your tank up and running, and if that means the cheapskate doesn't get paid for killing your livestock and not filling your tank, tough luck... If you want to go with softies, I have some nice shrooms amd some bland, brown palys with your name on them... Shoit me a pm or a text and I'll frag some atuff for you.

Thanks Ev'e. I have the patience of Job, but its pretty much gone. I have called him three times today and numerous text and no answer. So I am gonna just roll up to his house tomorrow morning with my truck to catch him off guard and just grab all my stuff. If need be I may have to call the sheriff to come with me in case he tries to pull any kind of funny business like I am stealing from him. Man this is turning into a reef style soap opera haha!
