Okay here is some funny stuff. After much calling he finally picks up. Says his phone has been off since Saturday and just powered it on (likely story). Anyways I told him I am going to pick up all my corals today, the ballast, and the rest of my equipement. He says that is not a problem, but as far as the stand goes he needs to pay for the storage unit before they will let him gain access.... LMFAO! I mean seriously. Dude cant even pay for his storage unit, so I cant get my old stand. Oh well... Plan on picking up the fish on Wednesday.

Usually when a phone is powered off it goes straight to a voice mail, it doesn't ring. Did it ring at all?
Professional is so far outta that guys league, he probably can't even spell it. I can't imagine him having ANY repeat customers, if he has even had any before.

Well my worst fears have been confirmed.... I showed up and land laid it into this guy. I told him if I didnt get my stuff back now that I will call the insurance and tell them the BS that he put through and to not cut him the check until I get my stuff. His face litrally fell to the ground and he said he needed to tell me something. I thought tomyself oh **** here it comes..

So he basically tells me 3/4 of corals are gone and of the 34 fish I had only 3 lived.... Only three. My heart sand to my feet. I always read the horror stories of how peoples tank crash and I alsways tell them how sorry I am, but never ever could I ever have imagined that this is the feeling you get when it actually happens. I can understand why people want to take a break from the hobby after such a devastating even such as this. After some mental calming and a few deep breathes I ask him how the hell it happend...

Basically he said he came home after a few hours of being out and servicing customer tanks he found everything dead and alot of corals melted. He then pointed to the tank he had the fishes and coral in.... I almost shat myself when he pointed to a 30-40 gallon tall glass tank! I look straight at him and told how **** did you ever expect 30+ fish and corals to have live in that tiny *** space!?!? His excuse was that he didnt think he would be holding my stuff for this long. I told him thats not an excuse as I told him it would be atleast a month and even if he didnt know he should have thought ahead for the 'just in case scenario'. Needless to say I wrote dow every fish I had and ever coral and invert that I had and died and he will replace it. I told him for my own protection I am still calling the insurance to let them know what had happend so that way in case he tries to dick me over on the replacement the insurance will know that I will file a claim with them for the loss and they (insurance) can then charge him since he is licensed. My daughters are devastated cause they have been asking for 'their' Nemos for a month now and I dont have them (I have the others but my kids are smart ones and know its not 'theirs'). What hurts me is the fact my pellet/mysis/copepods/brine eating mandarin died. I mean **** it ate PELLETS! Anyways what corals I do have left I am aclimmating to the tank. Ill have pictures up soon. Thanks for listening to my rants. Time to pick up the pieces and move on.

Wow. I don't even know what I could possibly say to you at this point. I'm so sorry for your loss and worse for having to deal with this [insert expletive here] with all of this. I have no idea how anyone with a conscience could mislead you to the point that this [insert expletive here] did. Again, my heartfelt condolences. It's one thing when you're the one responsible but when it's a different person who claims to be a "pro" it's unjust and disheartening.

I'm glad you were able to at least recoup some of your livestock. When you're ready, I don't have much but whatever extra frags I have I'd be happy to donate to help restock your new setup. I imagine it's probably too early to start thinking of it now but please don't hesitate to hit me up.

And as far as your options go...you're a smart man for still calling the insurance co. You have absolutely no reason to trust anything this guy says and he's entitled to an equally unsatisfactory payment for his poor excuse of work. Another option might be small claims since I can imagine that somewhere in the range of what you lost.

Really bummed for you and your family. You've been through a lot...I hope life in the next coming months pays you back and then some. And I'll be happy to contribute in whatever way I can.

Thanks Omar, Molli, and everyone for the kind words. I am past all this and just want to continue to move foward. I mean seriously this guy wants to replace my RBTA in 2 weeks time with a tank that just got set up literally 3 days... Well, everything happens for a reason. Perhaps my tank was on its way to a hard reset anyways and the reefing fairies wanted it be done the right way this time lol.

This is devistating news. I can't imagine going through what you've been through. I've been through a tank disaster and thanks to everyone on here, I was able to bounce back. Hopefully you will too.
Please keep us updated and don't give up. Send me a PM when you're up and running and I'll donate a "Dori" for your daughters since I have two in my tank. Always happy to help.

Thanks everyone for the offers to help me resituate my tank its greatly appreciated! Ill PM you guys when the cycle is pretty much complete. So glad you guys are such great people. Especially the forum here is hands down the best because of folks like you all! Now onto the pictures!

Here are pictures of a PAR38 16W LED bulb I got off ebay for a total of $34. Very bright and a very plesant cool white. The bulb is equavilent to a 120W incadescent. I will be using this for my refugium. Very bright and the 45 degree lenses will cover the refugium area perfectly.

Installed on the recessed lighting area to see how it would look. Turned out great to be honest.

It does have that 'spot light' effect but its probably due to the 45 lens. Being that high up though it covers a 6 ft diameter. If I had the cash and replaced all the incadescents with this I am confident it would have lit up the formal living room evenly. I really like this light only drawback (which is a positive) is that the aluminum housing is heavy lol! Good for heat dissipation and logevity of the bulb so a plus rather than a negative.

Running some ebay 14K bulbs and it is PERFECT. The exact white I wanted with very little blue and almost all white.

My tank cyclers (not pictured is the female GSM). These clowns have taken the right as their territory and the GSM has taken the left lol.

New CBS still hanging out on that large leather I got from Cesar.

The really abnoxously large leather I got from Cesar! Its bigger than a footbal when shrunken. In fact I actually had a hard time finding it a spot since it was **** massive haha!

Basically this all of my OG corals that survived. All my zoas, mushrooms, xenia, and a few others melted away to coral heaven with 90% of my livestock.

Talk to the insurance, tell them how much it cost you to get your tank running again, how much you spent on gas to go get your stuff that he didnt deliver, and tell them that you want to be paid for all that!

Some macro shots of the corals I do have:

No idea what that is as it was never on this rock prior..

The one ricordea that lived through the crash. Tough sob!

Dont mind the hair algae it was a gift from the dude that killed my stuff lol.

Needless to say the insurance will not cover my loss (thats why they made sure he was licensed). I will have to go off the fact that he stated he will replace my losses. if he doesnt looks like I wil be on Judge Judy with this guy haha!

New fish acclimating (thanks Toua!)

Thought I would never say this, but I ACTUALLY missed cleaning the foul smelling fish poop! Since I upgraded to the red demon needlewheels I am pulling crap like this in just 3 days!

I do, however, do not miss this stage in a new reef lol!

Ordered a pair of Koralia Evo 1050's and man they out perform the turbells hands down. I actually disconnected the turbells completely. I am using the 7094 controller to run the Evo. I am hoping to save up for another set of 1050s for the back wall and 1400s for the top half of the tank.

Hello there ma'am!
