Can anyone assist me in locating someone who can fab a pair of acrylic brackets to gold my LG tablet that I'm using as a full-color Apex display? Was thinking of contacting John @ AA bit figure that project is way beneath what he's willing to handle. If your hobbyists willing to give this I ago that would be great.

It's pretty easy to do. Get yourself a small piece of acrylic from HD/Lowes. You will also need a butane torch (sold at HD/Lowes) or similar. Depending on how you want the tablet to sit. You can use a small piece of wood, aluminium, metal, etc, to form the base (and top), apply the torch to the acrylic to the area you want to form (to slow will melt or will bubble, too fast will just take you longer to heat up the arylic). You might want to heat up both sides, so that it soften up evenly. Once its soft, you can mold it to the width of tablet. Remember to use gloves, Acrylic get hot and will have lasting feeling on your fingers. Believe me its not a pleasant feeling. You can mold the top to hold the tablet in place or use Velcro. Youtube/google will help get you an idea.

Try it out on a small piece of acrylic 1st to get you an idea of what you need to do. But its fairly simple. Bending acrylic is a lot nicer then cutting and gluing, especially with a small project. anything under 1/4" is manageable. GL

what are the dimensions of the tablet? I have a 3d printer and may be able to do something.

Something similar to this: http://aquariumledmounts.com/products/amazon-fire-7-surface-mount-white or you can contact slief on rc, that is his website.
I'm actually looking more for L-brackets versus a 'sleeve'. Want the tablet to appear to be free floating from the edge of the trim on the stand. I'll get you dims of the tablet once I return home.

I'll look into this method if 805 isn't appeal to assits. My fear is making a ugly monstrosity.

Do you want the bracket to be screwed to the base?

Here is a super quick mockup since I'm not clear on what you want/need. You just want it to be supported from the bottom and a little in the front? Could even just be the front corners so it looks more "floaty".

Yes I want the bracket to be screwed to lip of the stand, and the mockup is much more fancier and clean that what I envisioned so thank you very much there. And yes button support and the a small lip to retain the tablet on the front. I'm headed home now so I'll shoot you the dems and an image of the tablet and where I hope to mount it.

Sounds good. Once I see the pics I can make some changes and hopefully get exactly what you want

Here's what I meant by the corners only for support rather than the full front. it's up to you though, just let me know what you are thinking and prefer

Dems 189.3 x 113.8 x 10.1mm (7.45 x 4.48 x 0.40 in).

Don't mind the cracked screen it works perfect and will be replaced shortly :)

Still thinking this out, but heres something I threw together. This would have to be a set angle, and right now I have it at 45 degrees. The height of this part is 50mm, so half ways up the tablet. Let me know if you have any ideas

I'm trying to think of a way to do it so the angle is adjustable without having to make it super thick... still thinking.

I don't want to over complicate anything and I'm fine with a set 45. Could even shorten the back plate while extending the front plate and add tabs at set intervals to make the tablet angle adjustable.
