So my QT is empty and I'm thinking of the possibilities. I'm looking at the Kuiter's Leopard Wrasse. Does anyone have any experience with it? Will it be like caring for the average leopard wrasse? Any feedback is appreciated!

I haven't been in this hobby that long and have never seen them. I see LA has them for sale but at $150 each with the "experts only" tag its iffy lol. If I were to try it I would get it from LiveAquaria.

Yeah. That's the plan. They get them periodically. Just wondering if anyone kept one. It's good they have a 14 day guarantee.

No experience with that particular wrasse but, I have had a few leopards in the past. I would think they would be around the same requirements to keep; sand bed, live food at first, hard to get to eat prepared foods, peaceful and best kept in harems, etc...

If you are looking at high end wrasses check out Choati Wrasse as well.

I would get a Choati, but they're so **** sensitive. DD has been having them for the past few days. I don't know how established they are coming from them though.

Ok, so I'm ready to bite the bullet on LA, but don't wanna pay $35 shipping, so now I gotta pick a filler fish to get me to $225. Haha

Any suggestions are welcomed!

Is it coming from LA or DD? If DD that Pink Margin fairy is cool. I think LA just drop ships from one of the wholesalers from 104th st. I could be wrong though...

I ordered the wrasse. It comes in on Tuesday. Upon further advice, I'm not gonna risk quarantining it. It's too sensitive. So if it looks healthy and alive when it arrives, I'm gonna put it in the display. Can't wait!

I have one of these guys. In my experience pretty similar to other leopards. I was able to get it on NLS pellets, but I had to train it gradually to eat them.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. How big is yours? Got any pictures? And where did you find him?

Mine is about 4". Don't have any pics right now. I'll snap one later if I have time. I got her from liveaquaria.

I would still recommend a quarantine with sand though. Mine had a swim bladder problem when I got it and I'm not sure how it would've done if I had just put it in my display. I treated with antibiotics. It made a full recovery eventually.

I got the shipment, but I think the fish is dead. I know wrasses can look like they're dead after shipping, but I don't see any gill movement. It doesn't smell either, so it couldn't have died very long ago. The water doesn't contain excess poop. The lady at LA said to acclimate it for an hour anyway and then call back if it doesn't "wake up." Haha So we'll see, but I'm not holding my breath.
