I personally would recommend the Geo reactor. I feel that it's extremely reliable and there are is minimal areas on the reactor when there can be leaks or breaks. As for solenoid I strongly suggest building a dual stage reg. There are several benefits and it's the most important component of a calcium reactor. It will prevent the need of fiddling with your bubble rate and prevent end of tank dumps.
Parts list? Your not the first to recommend I build one.

Thanks. I do need to get out to Compton for a pick up at Chemtainer... so I should finally check his place out while I'm in the area.

There's a really good thread on building your own 2 STAGE (most say 2 Gauge,,,,,,not the same!) calcium reactor regulator on RC with a parts list on how to build one on the cheap.
Two most important points to remember on a calcium reactor is to control bubble rate and drip rate which then determines reactor ph.
I'm running A two-stage DIY regulator and using a master flex brushless continuous use peristaltic pump to control the drip rate on an aquarium engineering calcium reactor and it's been pretty much set it and forget it
Of course I run a pH controller to monitor.

I have Skimz cal reactor and I have been very happy with it. I ran a GEO in the past and I feel the Skimz is more efficient with the C02. I use the constant flow method and use the Milwaukee PH controller with the duel reg from Marine Depot. I would avoid the NanoReg by Aquamax. I had 2 fail.

I have one for my 45 gallon. I'm afraid to ask how much one is for the 300. Maybe someday but not initially.
Oh ok, yea I want to get one for my 300 so I can get some wrasses! I want to get it in 3 pieces so I can move them easily if/when I need to. Artfully is expensive! John at AA gave me a bit better price but still high. The wrasses will have to wait.

Just do the old fashion window screen and 1/4 clear netting from BRS.

Can't print anywhere near the size I need.

You know what, sometimes you are a genius! I have had the clear netting for over a year and tried to make my own this weekend out of acrylic but it came out bad. I got all wound up on this artfully trend that I forgot about the old fashion. I think I will make one the old way for now and then maybe later switch to a fancy one if I want to.

Ace Hardware will even make it and attach the netting for you. It was $15 if I remember right plus the screen kit.

805reef Since most of the window screen frame are made of metal/aluminum. I wonder if you can use your 3d print and make the frame and corners then just piece it together. that might work since you have a small plotter

hmmm... well yea I could print something that would connect together but I'm not sure how well it would hold up. For my tank it would need to span 27 inches. and I can print about 12 inches long, so that would take 3 pieces. I could probably use nylon screws to connect them and it will be strong enough.

Now you have me thinking... I might have to test this out. Could make it so that it will be easy to piece together any size needed. It should be cheap to ship to since it'll be in smaller pieces if other people wanted a set.

BeanMachine I would have to suggest to check out the thread on RC. There are several ways to build it and at different price points. I may be building one soon for a friend. I'll DM you with any deals I find
