thats a nice toy.

As for acrylic lids, I had one made for me for my 75g and I noticed it tends to bow on larger tanks. I wonder if there are better materials for this purpose.
You can always go with a steel lid lol I doubt it, if anything you would just have to go with thicker material. That will start getting expensive though depending on length

I would probably go with 3 sections on your lid. That'll cut down on price and bending. I plan on going with 2 x 18x30 pieces for my lid made of 1/4" acrylic or 2 x 1/8" screwed together for a cleaner look

Both Arfully and AA recommend polycarbonate over acrylic for this and AA recommended 3/8" over 1/4" for my span of 27". I don't know what thickness Artfully uses.

I can't see how sectioning it would make any sort of difference, if it's thin enough, its going to sag regardless over the coarse of time. The heat of the light alone is enough do do that, but one thought I did have was cutting some grooves in two pieces, stick some rod of choice in there to reinforce it, like acrylic or metal. Can't see it mattering if its inside

I got my cTech T-3 CaRX today. I'll post some pictures later.

Guess I'll have to show you want I meant by it. Once I'm done with it I'll post

I'm going to order this for inside the stand / under the sump. Foamed PVC Sheet in Dark Blue. I may look for it a couple other places before I do.

Purely for aesthetics, or is this waterproofing in some way? Seems interesting stuff... Also makes me wonder if the PVC sheetgoods and moldings are the same stuff. I know a brand called AZEK does a lot of the product I use... Not sure if they do colors though..

Both mainly aesthetics but easy to wipe down.

This is the acrylic DIY thread! :sorry:

Have you asked John @ AA if he can get you the colored pvc sheets?

Also I meant to mention before if you hadn't ordered the chemtainer containers, JDEllis used to be able to order them. I don't know if he still does but he may be able to get them a little cheaper for you.

No progress as usual but here are some pics of the AquaMaxx cTech T3 Calcium Reactor. It is quite large haha . I'm going to order an industrial grade stainless dual stage regulator for it.

And the Reef Welder for the aquascape. I ordered two large jars so we'll see how it goes. I plan to drill the rock for acrylic rods.

I'm going to try Paragon Plastics first as they are local to me. You can get them shipped from tapplastics.com, but I don't think I can get the size I need due to shipping size. I'd have to get two pieces and I think that would bother me if there was a seam. Plus water being able to get in between. But I can try John at AA if Paragon can't get it.

Thanks. I have the two that I want picked out. They are about $250 each. I can pick them up in Compton. Prob a couple weeks before I get those.

I used the reef welder on my aquascape, very cool stuff!! Works great and hardens very quickly, I also bought some BSI gel. I glued with that first and then used the reef welder to reinforce it, used it mainly in areas were its not too visible

Make sure on you're regulator that the guy here you a sensitive flow adjuster (needle valve for bubble count). That was one of the main reasons that I had a custom one built. He failed on that account for me so review it with him.

Thanks Mark. Forgive me... is this the needle valve? But I will confirm with him. **I confirmed with Alan mine is equipped with the needle valve and solenoid.
