Ok so the gyre XF180 was to be revealed at MACNA this year. I know it was displayed but I don't know if many people noticed it. It's just slightly bigger then the 150 model. So unless it was side by side or u know about it, the 180 could have been missed.
Well I'll say some might not care but for me it's a big deal. I've been a support of the gyres sense b4 the masses got to see them in person. I am really happy with my two XF150s. But really want to swap them out for the 180s.
I haven't been able to find any images of the 180s but like I said it probably couldn't be recognized from the 150 if they weren't side by side.
So here

But let me tell u the bigger news. Maxspect is beta testing two XL gyres right now. This gyres is made for 1000 gallon and up systems.

That pvc pipe is 1 1/4" to show u the size.
Here's a pic of Chris taking a nap and grading it with his life if u don't think it's that big
Eric, if you go with the 180, will you be only sticking to one gyre? Seems like you'd get more out of one on each end, no? And are you planning to use the controller? I'm interested in what kind of modes and programming abilities it will have.

No I'll be upgrading the 2 150s to 2 180s. Im be using them the exact same way I have the 150 now. But have the ability to have more power with a wider flow pattern. Both r set up on alternating gyre mode. One is vertical centered on the overflow box and the is horizontal attached to the center brace.

looks like a huge difference between the gyre and the riptide..
Actually the gyre was suppose to be called the riptide. But after a little research by coralvue they had found out that there already was a product out in the industry called "riptide" so maxspect had to change the name to the gyre.
