i have one and it works awesome. its really cool to see how the fish that wants to be clean goes up to the cleaner and looks like it gets put into a trance. it just swims up to it and goes limp, just floating around being still while the cleaner goes to work...

What cleaner wrasse are you guys taking about? A blue streak? Alhough they do perform the cleaning function which is cool to watch however they won't get rid of all parasites so not a miracle cure or anything.

They are hard to getting eating prepared foods so make sure the one you do buy is before you take it home.

I don't think it will get rid of ich. But it has to be doing something if the other fish keep going up to it... they're small and like 12 bucks...

Never seen mine eat. Maybe I should be concerned. But they are busy all day cleaning all of my disgusting Tangs.

I owned 2 cleaner shrimps for 1 year. Never saw them clean anything except my nails when I put my hand in the tank to feed.

I've read they don't live that long in captivity if that is the case.

You will always have ich. Its in the body of water... once the fish stress out, they secrete oil then the ich that's in the water likes to feed on that oil.

Was it eating?

Nothing you can do. I wouldn't have added the fish just for that reason.

I have some yellow line cleaner gobies and they don't do a better job. I've never seen them pick at a fish like I see the blue streak do.

I wouldn't have bought the cleaner wrasse in hopes of curing the mystery wrasse of ich. Ich is a parasite that gets into the gills and under the scales of a host fish so there is no way, the cleaner wrasse would be able to get in there and "clean" out the parasite.

If you have time, here is a great read on cryptocaryon aka marine ich and it's life cycle. As well as what you can do to eradicate it from your fish and tank.

a mystery wrasse wouldnt let a cleaner near it...they're too jumpy....only certain fish allow themselves to be cleaned...wrasse arent some of them...if u still have as many fish as u used to that may be the cause of the stress...just garlic dip ur food

u still have a long road ahead of u....the cleaner wrasse only gets whats on the surface of the slime coat....the ich parasite actually burrows itself into the dermis layer of the fish so no cleaner wrasse or shrimp can get them off
