Good to hear all the positive results of Dr. Tims. Glad I went that route. Since I'm seeing good results I guess I'll stick with them.

I can't comment on that quite yet as my tank is extremely young and I am just starting to increase the amount of corals in the tank. The only positive I can mention as of now is the fact that my algae growth has slowed quite a bit.

Justin and solitude, I know when u use gfo your alk level go low initially. Did u experience this with dr Tim pellets?
No. Do some research. They are two completely different mechanisms. To be frank, I ran GFO from the beginning so I can't comment no whether or not GFO even made my alk go low initially.

I did do my research and your alk level goes low when you first introduce GFO. Just wondering if the pellets had the same reaction. Well, I will give Dr. Tim's pellet a shot. What do you think about the CPR Pellet reactors?

I don't know. I've never used that brand. I have the cadlights biopellet one that schnizel has. I personally think it sucks but the fact that it's recirculating one makes it better than most IMO.

I really don't think u can beat the CADLights reactor for the money. Now that I have had more time to mess with mine, I think it works great. I researched a lot before I bought mine, and I think for under $200 this one is the winner. Most of the other bio pellet reactors require too big of a pump, or they start to clog.

I got mine for free. It's does the job plus some. Ease of use and cleaning could be a little better. I think they should have moved the three way valve higher. The cadlights is $175 and there are a lot of brands you can choose from at that price level. If I was going to buy another one, I think I'd pay a little more for the newer reef dynamic ones. They seem to be one of the better ones on the market right now.

Those things look cool. I was watching the some youtube vids about them yesterday. Seems like a nice design and they have made it easy to change out the media with the ingenious tube within a tube concept.

So these dr Tim pellet we talk about so highly, when introducing to the tank for the first time do we have to start off in very small amounts? I want to start using pellets instead of gfo. I don't want to lose all Sps like the time I got into ecobak and used the recommended dosage. Nearly killed everything in my tank.
Obvious user error!

I was recently talking to Eddie at CAD Lights and he said that they love hearing customers feedback, good or bad. He is striving to provide hobbyists with the most innovative, best products you can buy and if there is something you, as users, feel could improve the already wonderful products CAD Lights has to offer, they want to know about it.

They are listening and are looking into raising the 3-way valve on the reactor. :)

What would raising the 3 way valve accomplish?

I'm using the Aquamaxx reactor and really like it. The effluent goes into my fuge and then flows down into my skimmer section.

U like the aquamaxx reactor? I have one, but I use it for gfo. It doesn't seem like anything special to me.
They make one for pellets which is different than the one for GFO/GAC. It's not an upflow reactor and with this reactor it creates almost a tornado type of environment inside
