My new wrasse somehow made it through the grate and is now in my overflow box. I can't reach the box very easily. Any ideas how to get it out? The only thing I can think of is unhooking the plumbing from my sump and just draining the box.

had the same thing happen with my two wrasse who magically both went in at the same time. I siphoned the overflow. than took apart the plumbing.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll siphon a bunch of the water out, and then drain the rest. There is an extra bulkhead in the bottom of the tank in the overflow box that I'm not using, so hopefully I can take that one out easier than dismantling the plumbed bulkheads.

Now that I've learned my lesson, what do people put over their overflows to keep this from happening? This fish is pretty small, like a little thicker than a pencil.

Scott...funny (not really) that this happened to you. I have a baby Bangai in my overflow. I left him there on purpose because he's the only baby that survived being eaten for lunch. I'll have to take my canopy off when he's ready to be taken out. I might have the same issue. I feel for you. Good ideas on draining the overflow.... bummer though.
