Did a dip in melafix today to try to actually see them die but i couldn't find any. Going to keep an eye out for eggs. Are the clusters always big?
melafix rx killed my rhodactis mushroom.. anyone else have that experience? Was I an idiot for dipping my mushroom?

I've never seen small clusters of eggs. I think the smallest I remember seeing was maybe the size of a dime.
Thanks! I definitely don't have any that size. The first and only eggs I saw were few.

If I only have small aefw, how long before they get bigger and start laying eggs?

I think 2 weeks...but don't worry about all that....Start with dipping them in Bayer once a week for a month and u will probably kill them all. If u see eggs, cut a big frag and throw the base away. Use that method, and u will get em

I had AEFw few years ago...did the dipping thing for like 6 months straight....my fingers began to peel and then I realized I was doing it all wrong.

Only way to get rid of this is to empty the tank.....start fresh with frags from your original pieces and hope for the best.

Word of wisdom....when buying frags I have this tendency now to get larger pieces that I frag off of it and trash the base. I don't care who I get it from...where I get it from...its just I went through so much when I had it I rather just not deal with it anymore.

Eggs grow on the bases and the rocks around it. If you got large flatworms most likely you have had it for a long while.

Keep your tank empty from all SPS and just do your research on how to keep the tank AEFW free.

I will tell you since my experience few years ago...I have not had a problem with these guys since......But I still have my fingers crossed but I haven't added anything in like 10 months.

Yeah I usually cut off the base, I hate plugs. Did anyone completely tear down their holding tank in between dips?

Just reading this thread for the first time. Sorry this happened to you Jesus! I've never noticed any issues with my SPS but now I'm nervous. I'll inspect closely when I get home tonight. I'd have to say if I found out I was infested I'd "probably" cut out the larger nicer pieces and dip them and try and revive them back to health. Maybe. Just maybe. To be honest I would be so frustrated I might just cut them out and get straight into a LPS softy tank. I don't have the patience with this kind of stuff like you other hardcore SPS lovers do. There are so many killer softies out there I'd probably just go all soft. Don't get me wrong, you know I love my SPS colonies but hey, I have to much time invested to try and start over. Hang in there Jesus...I'm sure you'll beat this stuff.

Just finished week 7 of dipping and got absolutely nothing visible off the frags. Plan is to do one last dip on sunday then wait a month and dip again. If nothing comes of on the last dip I would say that I successfully rid myself of these dang things.
