Ya and now that I saw Esteban's comment about how Randy Holmes Farly thinks it doesn't make a significant difference rinsing or not in terms of the p04 introduced I won't be rinsing my food ever again. Ever. Yeah I said ever.

I think its your giant man made rock scape leaching the po4 but that is just a guess.
It was Mike who found the thread, I do love you Bean, mostly cause you take a good pounding.

I also agree with Cody, it's your Rock. Try testing at night. Scott Pciscott was telling me how his rock would leach out at daytime and at night would suck it all up again. Confirmed through testing.

Funny thing speaking of rock, only my man made crap has patches of that nasty algae I can't shake, FTMFL!

Like a responsible reef keeper I try not to over croud, bringing us back to the topic of high phosphates and how to control them.:proud:
Jamie,
list your fish! You may have to consider lowering your bioload or adding another/stronger nutrient export method to your system

Never had success witha fuge, always caused more of a mess than anything.

What do you have in your fuge? I can't stand chaeto, it always turns stringy for me and it gets everywhere. I'd like to try mangroves.

chaeto w/ no sand or anything else- good for pods and easy to trim back when it overgrows. im using that in-sump fuge from MD- works good and i can always take it out if if i need to for maintenance.

Welcome to the world of gfo in all honesty gfo should be changed every week more so if you have alot of po4 less so if your po4 is low. Thats why i buy gfo in 5 gallon buckets from brs because i change it out so often. You can actually test output from reactor everyday and see that it increases.
