Congrats on your citizenry! gl with build, taggin along :)
Thank you, now they can't deport me mwhahahahahahahaha.

Sorry Gumbi...

Need suggestions for return and closed loop pumps. Return needs to be submersible since I can't drill my sump. Budget is a requirement for both pumps.

Time for an update. I finished all the inside corner bracing today and sanded the outside. For what I lack in carpentry skills I make up for in sanding ability :a01:. I ordered the epoxy on Friday, should be here late next week so I might be able to start pouring next weekend. Also ordered 2-1.5" bulkheads for the drains. I'm thinking external Herbie but I'm not 100% sure yet. I decided to use my Mag 18 for the closed loop and order a Sedra 15000 needle wheel pump for the skimmer. Still not sure about a return pump yet, might use the mag for return if I can find a decent priced external pump in the 1500gph range.

Time for pictures, nothing fancy this time except for...

Fat guy standing on his tank. Just for the hell of it I wanted to see how well the euro bracing worked.

Still need to find the glass but I won't be ready for it for a few more weeks. The epoxy needs min 5-6hrs to set and full cure in 24-72hrs depending on temp and humidity.

awesome pictures... good build... and man... imagine it broke..? LOL... not saying you're fat... or that you built it with fail/aids... but that would've sucked if you jumped on it and it broke...

Was kinda worried it might break but really if it breaks now, do I really want to put water in it lol. When we moved here I found Carl's Jr and In and Out and the rest is greasy history.

Dude I haven't forgot about the glass, but my guy is on vacations. I will have a quote soon.
No worries, I pm'd you the dimensions the other day. Whenever everyone is back and has time.

Sorry, progress has been slow. Got some goodies today.

I'm going to make the external overflow this week and test this stuff out on the weekend (or sooner if my OCD kicks in). Found a killer deal on a Reeflo Dart yesterday so that should be showing up in the next few days. I'm off next week so in between deck and retaining wall building I will be pouring epoxy.

Well I borrowed a heater so I can try and get the garage up to 75-80f. Even at that temp, it will still be 6-8hr set time and 24-48 cure time per coat/side. I'm told that when it becomes tacky, I can pour another layer without having to sand. I'm shooting for a minimum 1/8" thickness for the sides and 3/16" for the bottom. The last coat will be the color coat. This stuff is really supposed to soak into the wood and becomes strong as a rock.

As promised I did start pouring epoxy tonight.

My epoxy booth, complete with tunes heater and light. I have been able to keep the temps around 73f which means a reasonably "quick" set time.

Mixing a batch of epoxy.

Poured and spreading out. I used 9oz for the bottom to test how it would work and the wood soaked most of it up. This stuff is almost like warm pancake syrup.

Also did the top of the euro brace

And the edges

So far this stuff has been pretty easy to work with. I have put 1 coat of tinted epoxy on the bottom and there was almost no smell until I mixed in the tint. Now I'm all fuzzy headed (might also have something to do with the whiskey) so I'm done for the night. I will let it cure overnight and see what we have in the morning.
