Hey Guys, been a while but closed escrow on a new house few months ago and have been sitting on this dry tank since. Since I am finally getting it wet I figured I should put up some pictures.

Here is the full tank shot from an angle.

Leemar 225g 72 x 24 x 30wide

couple pictures of the sump

salt water mixing station

plumbing from blue barrels to sump

and from the inside

and a horrible blurry picture of some awesome live rock I got from radrog. Thanks again Roger!!! you and your wife are awesome people.

its taken a few months to do the plumbing and to get it wet so I know this is gonna be a slow moving project. Next on the list is to let it cycle for a couple months while I work on getting it quieter. I have never hard pvc'd anything before and now I am feeling the effects of the vibration. I also still need to get a chiller, lights, controller, power heads and a wholllllllle bunch more. Stay tuned....

Plumbing looks great. I especially like the lines from the salt mixing station to the sump. Way to think ahead, plan it out, and execute. Where did you score the barrels if you don't mind me asking?

im thinking about going with reefbreeders photon led's . its been a struggle in my mind going from mh to t5 to led and back.

anyhoo, got the live sand and live rock in, I just dumped in what I had and will be adding in more sand in the future, and will be doing some aquascaping when I get a chance to. at least we can start a cycle.

Very nice. Those are my favorite dims for a tank. So what do you lan to stock? LPS? SPS? Mixed? Do you know what other equipment you are going to get yet?

Where is the noise coming from on the plumbing? We might be able to give some tips.

im gonna have a nice mixed reef with everything I hope. still need to get lights, chiller, reactors, dosers, controller, powerheads, heaters... im gonna most likely wait till after christmas to get everything else I need while its cycling. The noise is coming from the pump, its vibrating reallly bad, im thinking of taking a section out of the pvc and putting in some vinyl tubing to kill some of it going up the pump, but I think im also going to replace the pump with a eheim or something alot more quiet.

Your tank looks great! Did you get the stand/canopy from leemar too? Looks a lot like mine. If you did, how tall is your canopy? Mine came up about 16" and sort of overpowers the look of the tank. I like slim canopies. Also, we're the fan holes predrilled?

What pump is it? Could the impeller be causing it? Does it have the little rubber feet under it to silence it?
its a dannermag 18 or 24, no rubber feet.... but I did stuff some mesh foam under it so its not against the bottom of the tank. even when I hold it suspended in water with nothing touching it, it will still vibrate too loud.

I bought this tank used, and was told the tank stand and canopy is all leemar. my canopy is only 10", I would like it a little higher but aesthetically you cant beat it.

picked up a jbj 1/5 chiller, and an eheim 1262 return pump to quiet things down a bit. Ordered a 60" ati 8 bulb t5 fixture, and two wp60's. seems as we are well on our way!

1/5th will work pretty hard but it's better than nothing. I have the same dimensions as you. Eheim would be plenty strong for a return and a solid choice.

Question the mixing station is directly behind the tank? If it is I would put the sump under that mixing station to do work and put any rodi reservoir and dry equipment in the stand. I regret not opening up my closet wall and putting my sump in the closet and the reservoir under the stand. Now I have to crouch over and work like a hobbit instead of having a larger area to work in.

Ati 8 bulb is perfect if it is the 8x80

I do not hold back on either of my two A/C's in the summer and never let the house get over 77 , so that chiller is hopefully not gonna have to work hard. Ill also add a fan ir too in the sump and in the canopy.
The mixing station is sharing a wall with the right side of the tank. I debated and even posted a thread on here about a garage fishroom and was too terrified about the humididy and the exhaust of my car when parking in the garage and decided against it. I did run two extra pipes thru the wall for future use just incase I want to plumb something out there.
Ati is the 8 x 80

Great build, really impressive. That tank is setup great for swim space and coral placement.
Thank you. That was the idea. I would like to have some decent sized fish so the space is a must.
