Well let see if they started as one head.......

Hmmmmmmm?

Roots are showing.
Very funny
I wasn't sure if the second one also started from just one head or if you were just saying that it took a year to get that way.... and it was hard to tell a lot from your schnitzel pics! It looks like they are only like 2 heads on the first one now. I guess that's why I asked that question cuz I couldn't imagine it only grew that much in a yr.

Here is an ok rainbow. Its time to start my collection again.
Yeah that's pretty, Chad

LNS up in my tank. In the summer I spot fed because I had time. Now they just eat what they can get. Hence the very little growth. They are now 5-8 heads each. The other side isn't shown.

The more rainbowish one is legit ultra. The rest are mutts grade A's at best. That frost color makes em not LE and pretty only to the owner.

As I'm getting more into the Acan thing, it's worth getting those tank raised single heads and making them grow. The wild ones tend to had dull orange and brown tones and that frost color.

Saw this thread and thought I might find some Acan lovers w more experience than myself, keeping these guys. I am sick over this ! WTH is going on?? It was great yesterday, spot fed fine..and today it is going grey and seems to have tissue peeling off of it alll over ,like it looks fuzzy almost..not the heads peeling from the skeleton, but just little bits all over flesh..
:noidea:
Any help/advice? This is my first acan..and have only had it since RAP..can't stand to lose it ! :(

Hmmm... this happened overnight??? I don't know what would cause this....
What other corals do you have in the tank?
Any chance something could've died and caused an ammonia spike?

Post your current tank params and maybe we can get to the bottom of this for you.

There is a chance! I cannot find a sea hare that was doing great , but have not seen in a week! Short of pulling apart ally rockscape , I cannot find it :( Since then an engineer goby turned up dead.. only in in tank maybe overnight ..have done a 30% wc on Saturday .. My nitrates :20 ( typical for this tank despite all I do to lower)
Amm: 0
Phos:0
Ph: 8.2
Nitrites:0
Temp: 79

I swear this is getting WORSE every time I check it... Anything that would cause such a drastic change? No other coral is near it, and does not appear to have any kind of visible parasite... It just looks like it is rotting right in front of my eyes! :( Thank you for any help ...I'm in kind of a panic!.. have been researching with little luck , online..but have read about Tropic Marine Coral Cure..If it isn't already gone by morning I was thinking of finding some ..hopefully I can get it from a lfs.. what do you think?

Ya what's your alkalinity. A big fluctuation from his home to your home can cause it to die. So whats you alk at? I'm guessing high.

He said he got it at rap and it's been fine until yesterday.... an alk swing, however, could cause this. Or a salinity swing or heat spike.

Jhuneke- What other types of corals do you have in the tank? Is everyone else happy?
