Ok so let me get this straight, you walk into a LFS the first time and you immediately tell them you want a price match and you are surprised their attitudes go south? They are business people and they view you as an ongoing issue, get some rapport with a few stores and see what they will do for you. Don't expect to walk into anywhere the first time and ask them to lower their price without getting some frown lol.

These are not hot dog stands, they are retailers.

ya ive been to so cal and when i talked with Tom he even was down to price match but then when i showed up at his store for the first time i was like star struck seeing all the dry goods he has in stock and i tried to buy other stuff, but tom wasnt there and the ladys working there werent very nice..and kinda left a bad taste in my mouth..however his store is legittt hes got alot of stuff and his fish prices arent bad...ive heard alot of good things about CoralGazers..def gunna have to make the drive to check em out...only store ive been to that i can say has never hassled me about prices and ALWAYS had great customer service is Seaside Tropical Fish in Huntington Beach..if u havent been there yet, that is a legit fish store and all the employees are super nice and def willing to keep u a happy customer

i do not own a hot dog stand! lets not make dumb comments like that..one of my restaurants does $60,000+ a month and i have 3.. i doubt a hot dog stand does that kind of volume...i dont know what u do for a living, but u dont see me or hear me bashing on u!..so why dont u chill out and stop talkin smack! k cool...ur free to voice ur opinion, but theres no need to turn this thread into a hate thread..im over that $hit!

(for those wondering why im a bargain shopper if i own 3 schnitzs...i have moms house to pay for, my house, and sisters house..plus moms still got majority ownership..shes the one makin the big bucks)

Ok so you do $60k a month and have 3 so you clear $180k a month easily, let's say your overhead is 50% (which should be high) and your hard cost are roughly 35% (also high) that means you are clearing $27k a month but we'll take 50% for taxes (even though there is no way) we are at $13.5k a month in your pocket.

And you are bitching about $50?

I go LFS everytime

Been shopping @MD since they opened up, I spend ??? thousand per year with them. Its very convenient to have my order magically appear at my door, free shipping, next day.

But I prefer to drop that cash on the LFS if I can. LFS guys can only sell locally. They work really hard, and as many have said, that face to face customer service is all the difference.

MD never lets me leave bad reviews on products. They ask me for a review, if its negative it doesnt ever show up. I left a glowing review one time that stayed on their homepage for 6months.
