Quick little update on the tanks current numbers:

Trident is within +/-5 of Hanna checker results, phosphates are a little high at .22 (time for a water change), but overall the tank looking good. The alk swings that I was -and kinda still am- experiencing are not best for the corals (hoe I don't lose any), but I hope to have the calc reactor dialed in soon. Gonna switch up my current 2-part dosing to does once in the morning and once in the afternoon since I've noticed a steady drop over the day. Should provide better stability until the reactor takes over.

Update:

More fish. I’ve added a Carpenter’s Wrasse, Pintail Fairy Wrasse, Pink Margin Wrasse (male), Royal Gramma, and a few fire fish. Any advice on getting them to stay still for photos…lol

Forget which keiki beach and what island because there’s several on each, but this bay was nothing but bommies everywhere in three feet of water inside the main reef. Like a maze you just floated with your mask and snorkel moving about with your hands on the bottom. Remember my kid walking around just dipping her head under the surface to see the life, think she was about four at the time.
Your setup reminds me a lot of it.

Haven’t update in a while, but I was battling some unknown issue that was claiming some of my SPS. All parameters look good so I sent off my first ICP test this morning to get some more details. Will post results once they arrive.

My results usually pop up next day after that email.
So yeah something weird is going on. Shows on the site that they got my results 6 days ago and began the test but I’ve receive no email from them so I shot one over to their support email today. Really would like to get the results in hand so I can know if I have a problem or if I was moving a bit to fast and the tank just haven’t matured enough.

So they have a test facility in Gardena now? I thought they were still going overseas. My results vary between 7-10, test sent to results returned.

With all my algae issues and water changes I haven't sent a test off recently. I'll be sending one in next week as long as my dino's don't get out of control.

If you haven't gotten a email telling you they received your sample then I don't think they have yet. When you enter that code to register you kit before you mail it, the link is created. I wonder if that's what you are seeing on the site?

I got an email reply form them today telling the facility in Gardena is just a shipping station and that I’ll I’m seeing is the info created after entering the barcode information like you stated. Should have result next week.

Makes me wonder how much evaporation occurs during the travel process and of that at all skews any testing results 🤔

Hope not! I base all my trace adjustments off them.

I feel like those tubes seal pretty well. I saw something pop up on FB moonshiners group about nutrients seem to be skewed a bit. I do feel like my ICP always shows some nutrients present when my hanna/salifert usually show nothing.

For the most part it is pretty accurate and I like that it tests the RODI as well. That helped me seeing silicates in my RODI even though my TDS was 0

I always run Salinity, Alk, Cal, Mg, No3 and Po4 the day I send my test off to see where my tests line up. If you know your salinity is good, then you'll be able to see that first thing on the test. Evap, you'd have a false high specific gravity I'd think.

I only ran Po4 and No3, Calc, Alk, and Mg are monitored by trident. Gonna test my salinity today. Wish I had though if this when I pulled my samples. Will definitely do for my next test.

Finally pulled the trigger on some filter floss from ClariSea to see if it will work in my AquaMaxx AF-1 unit. I couldn’t wait any longer for the AF-1 fleece to get in stock. It’s a little bulky and I hope it doesn’t get stuck and place any unwanted stress on the motor over time as the fleece is used up.
