Enjoy! A different wrasse you don't see often. It got red/pink head, orange upper body, blue tail and white under body....and two long black ventral fins.
I don't think its the same ....this one has more pink/purplish head and orange body. Also the tail is solid blue and the long ventral fins are solid black.
Looks similar but not the same. Yours look mostly red on the upper part and mine has red head and orange body. Also yours has a black line separating between the top part and the lower white part.....mine doesn't. But one very distinct feature is the pure black ventral fin in the Paluweh fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus joanallenae). This species has only been discovered in the recent years.
I believe yours is the social or longfin fairy wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubriventralis). If I'm correct your wrasse's ventral fin has half black and half red. That's the fish in the pic posted by David.
I will have to get a better pic during the weekend when I have time. Your description of the body of Dave's is wrong. From the he'd back it is very orange. Either way cool fish, the Wholeseller must be popping out these mythical fish all week long.
