How do you think a peppermint shrimp knows the difference between aptaisia and a zoa/paly? I just added a peppermint shrimp to my nano and I was watching him pull on some zoas. Anybody ever witness a peppermint each a zoa/paly?

Peppermint shrimp are carnivores and will eat polyps and soft coral if they are starved or accustom to it lol

I had some peppermint shrimp that ate all my yellow polyps, but they never really touched zoas or other palys. They would also steal mysis or other food that I'd fed to LPS.

same here. All my yellow polyps disappeared after they finished the aptaisia.
But to me yellow polyps were like a pest so I didn't care. Never had them touch zoa's.

The shrimp made short work of the aptaisia I had in my tank. Pray for my zoas and palys.

No but I added 6 once and my purple tang ate 2 in less than 3 minutes. It was worth the entertainment! Then the other fish ate the other 4, the end.
