So I see, what happened to the LED-T5 combo? If these are replacing them, are you still going to ramp up? It would be interesting to see if you can swap LEDs without much acclimation.

Cant blame you, I was going to buy one too but I need to see superior performance to a tested LED like my AIs. My price was $680, good enough?

hmmm I thought you already had a cheap chinese knock off for you LED frag tank.

I got another AI on my in-stand frag tank, slaved to the DT AIs & hooked up to the apex/iPhone. But I can still fit radion on the right (previous fuge).

ok im getting one tomorrow. if its good enough for reefplanet...

Ray, if it's a 3 watt led what's the difference, XP-G or XP-E? Don't think Radion uses cheap *** leds.

Proven like what at fading and beating up sticks?
Ahh I see your worried about the green and red leds. Probably creates a nice color combo, but unnecessary.
5 watt whites must be bright as heck.

Unproven as in people have not posted good growth pics with Radion like they have with AI. Honestly I think Radion will be a winner like most of the other LEDs.

I'm not really worried about the green or yellow LEDs. As far as im concerned they are for rendering for the viewers eyes, like touching up a photo with photoshop there is nothing wrong with it.

And the difference between diode types is all the difference in the world. Newer generation diodes aim to be more effecient and powerful, until they hit that theoretical maximum of ~350 lumens per watt (~1000w MH at a 70w electrical price tag). If intensity is a concern, you could just use more LEDs at the cost of efficiency. But I feel pretty sure that the Radion 5w diode gives off more light than 2 of the AIs 3w diodes, because its of a newer generation.

But my concern is the subtle lie: spectrum. In college I was told LEDs gave off mostly monochromatic light like a laser, because you could not get spectrum with a high energy cost. I feel like I need to get my own spectrograph and really make sure all LEDs are emmitting what they say they are. In other words, I am highly suspect of that smooth curve in the blue frequency that LED manufactruers give us.

I love my SFILIGOI HYbrid LED & T5. There are a lot spectrum in there. The corals are happy and color up now as well as with the growth. They are dull color in the beginning but when they adapt with the LED they color back and growth faster.

Would 2 of these units work on a 4x2x2? I'm thinking Santa might be good to me and bring me a couple. That or the Maxspect Mazzarra.

Trader. Add a strip of led no need to spend all that cash. But hey economy must turn around with people being spendy.

yes, 2 would cover. & pls buy American (radion, AI)
Dang does that mean we stop buying everything else, since it's made in China. When you're out shopping this week, check everything it's all Chinese.

I here you Ray Ray we need to keep US jobs man. This crap of allowing all this crap to be imported sucks. It's destroyed countless businesses. But long live the consumers choices.

Yes, american LEDs are just as good, if not better than foreign made. And id rather buy my neighbors overpriced product than pay for his unemployment and health care.

Im in the market for a pickup truck, and im buying ford, for projects, outdoorsman training for my boys & a big dogg. Ive had toyota before, but next is ford, just as good. And when my son takes my bmw, im going cadillac cts-v. Walking the walk!

Cree's are made in asia fyi
Yes, but Cree's main headquarters is in Durham, NC. & ecotech is in Bethlehem, PA. Both are american (multinational) companies. Im not a nativist or isolationist, just my strong pref.

Few electronics have all parts made in US.
