So now that i got the sps lovers attention i need some input! I just purchased three big sps colonies from reef lounge and dipped all of them in the revive they gave me. I acclimated them to my tank for 45 mins and then dipped for 10 in the amount suggested on the bottle. I am pretty surf that the nice bottlebrush colony i just bought is bleaching out because of the dip. Any input would be greatly appreciated because i am bummin right now!!! Pics to follow.

Where are they in your tank? Up high? I don't think you would notice bleaching already if you bought them today.

Just give it time. It may come back.
I really appreciate the optimism!!! I thought that i read a lot and have a decent amount of knowledge about this hobby then i go and do something stupid like this. Is it all just a chance game or "certain sps are not to be dipped"? I want sps dominated tank but after this idk. haha

Saltwater=always learning. I have learned the less the better. I rarely mess with my tank and everything thrives. Each tank and coral is its own animal. Don't get discouraged by 1 dead coral. You may get another that grows for no one but does great for you.

+1 some sps are very sensitive to being dipped.
Dipping coral, acclimating coral, moving coral, just about everything stresses out colonies. Just the change between two different tank parameters is potentially fatal. They can be so darn sensitive. I have not used Revive in years, I'm a Bayer fan. But Bayer can cause some frags or colonies to croak as well.

SPS are awesome unless they croak and then they are an expensive mistake. This hobby makes me crazy sometimes

Seriously, i want to freaking quit and sell all my ****... But something about it makes me want to continue to drink my coffee and wait for ro water to be made so i can do a water change and test my tanks at 10 at night! lol

Dip isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it can save you a ton in the long run. However, experience from yourself, other hobbyists, and in my opinion the person you purchase the coral from should know how to care for it.
