that not that strong. but i dont leave it in there for 10 minutes 5 minutes tops. and i use a turkey baster and blow on the coral. move it to another container with clean tank water and bast again then i will cut the base off and place coral in qt tank.
I agree with the eunuch. Very well said.

I use revive all the time. With sensitive stuff I just shorten the time. I've never had an issue except pissing the coral off for just a little while. I've been meaning to try out the bayer

Some wild colonies are in bad shape when there bougt up at the lfs. But when they grow in your tank they change colors and its a nice surprise what their final look will be.
Friendly quiz: where do all the aquacultured and LE corals come from?
Answer: a wild colony that survived and looked amazing.

Remember those are wild colonies . Even if u didn't dip, there's a very small chance it would have survived.

You mean we didnt plant a seed in a tank and grow them? :) This is the great part about this hobby! Dead coral colony=150 dollars, pieces of the oceans from all over the world in a glass box of wonders right in your own home=priceless!

Actually I estimate $150 per gallon for a stunning tank. $200 if loaded with LE coral & high end fish :(

In case you didn't know, cut off all the dead tissue so it doesn't progress. It will save the coral in most cases. Even better give the good part to a pro.

Dip isn't a bad thing. Sometimes it can save you a ton in the long run. However, experience from yourself, other hobbyists, and in my opinion the person you purchase the coral from should know how to care for it.
great advise Chad knows his stuff I would make all purchases from reputable Stores that do not look at the customers walking into their store as dollar signs but as people , selling responsibly is a big thing I do not take that lightly and as for my experience neither does Chad , so keep that in mind and always have your smart phone handy to reference what you are being told ( doesn't always work but sometimes can save you time and money)

I've known guys in the hobby that have been in saltwater tanks since the 80's that still kill stuff. It happens. Lots of guys will say they know this and that, take that with a grain of salt. It will be a lot of trial and error. Trust me Sps is a tricky subject. Especially wild and mariculture.

IME the wild pieces are easier to keep. I even dare to say I have been through plenty of wild and mari's to know which ones have a better survival rate.

Can't blame a shop. Shoot of that was the case they would only sell you 8 fish for your entire life and they would last 25 years. and you wouldn't even need to dip cause they are all perfect. Let's get real everyone I've got plenty of chorrizo here for everyone. Open wide
