Honestly to tell you the truth I was going to do the bayer dip but they recommend the revive, btw I am not blasting them. They said they will take care of me when I go back, which I will!
Wally is a very cool guy, always buying stuff from him. Shaiza happens but he always makes it right! We all learn different things everyday. Like the other day I lost 8 fish on a tank transfer for a noob mistake but it happens just keep it up!

Revive is good, when properly used.

& i also think u dipped too long. After 1-2 hour slow acclimation, I dip 1-3 min using a weak powerhead while gently shaking the coral while visually inspecting for red bugs, white worms, brown worms, crabs, etc. then rinsed off in another bucket of tank water.

The stress could be from changes in parameters as well. To be extra safe test pH, alk, ca from the water in the bag. If the numbers are very different the acclimation will be longer (4-6hrs, even overnight)

This process seems to be on the extreme side. If that is working for you that is awesome. I am not going to sit and acclimate for 4-6 hours haha.

I wonder if there was a big swing in ALK from the holding tank they were in at the LFS vs. your tank? I'm sure you've tossed the water from the holding tank long ago but something to think about for the future.

I had their water set aside so i could test but after the sps started to fade i flushed it down the toilet out of anger. haha! All i know is they are a relatively new store and the sps in this tank was browning out and some were bleaching but this colony looked good.

I have an easy system where i put new sps in a small 1 gallon bucket in all the water from the lfs. I put this in a 5 gallon bucket and put that in the sink by my tank. Then i use a hospital IV tubing with flow controller to connect the tank to the small bucket, use a syringe to start a little flow from 100-500ml/hr. Set it and forget it. I loose very little little sps.

But then, some colonies just cant be saved bc they werent healthy to begin with. & its hard to tell if that PE was vibrance or desperation.

This process seems to be on the extreme side. If that is working for you that is awesome. I am not going to sit and acclimate for 4-6 hours haha.

these days...when I dip...the best way to get rid of ppest is just to pee in the bag. That ammonia will kill everything...I do the "clean catch method" and it works great
