I was wondering what everyone's experience with rodi equipment. Wonder if 2:1 ratio is a good maintenance rule of thumb in general.
Every 2 times you change out the resin to 1 time of all 3 filters. Lmk what you all think. Thanks.

I do but it has only been like almost 10 months since I changed the resin and my tds meter reads 1.

Also what u all think of 1, good or bad for Sps tank?

with a good skimmer and a good source of phosphate removal, you should be ok with anything under 5 TDS

You asking people if they leave the first pre filters but just change the DI. I get you bro. I've always been a spender with the filters but lately I've been cheap and didnot change the first chamber. 0 Tds, no problem

I replace my di resin when my tds reaches 1. I replace my others about once a year. When the tds reaches about 25 or so before the di you might consider changing the ro membrane. Just my opinion.

I just do my weekly water change and have a Warner Marine MF 201 for my 70 gallon with some carbon. I dose alk, ca and mg. Thinking about getting a Dynamic Reef pellet reactor for phosphate and nitrate.

So you only change the DI? If so how long do you go on it before you get a TDS reading of 1. Reason I want to know is if it is generally the norm to change resin twice every time you change your 3 pre filters.

I will have to change you resin soon. I have a BRS RODI. I was wondering what brand do you use for resin.

I change my Sediment filter every 3 months, my carbon block every 6 months and my DI resin when it shows 1 on my inline TDS meter as well as my handheld. The Sediment and carbon block do very little to reduce TDS, they're there to protect the membrane.

That is a great rule of thumb. I will follow that regimen. Thanks mike.

I just got an inline di filter and it seems to work okay so far.

I tested the di water for Tds. It was 0. I tested for phosphates and it registered about . 25. Is there resin out there that will remove the phosphates?
