Thanks David.

I'd love to grab some more of those saddle backs down the road. Trying to get a read on my fish health right now. Seeing more spots pop up today on the wrasses, I may need to pull them. Really not sure on how to treat them if they get worse. I know they don't do well with fw dips or copper. I'm considering ich x in combination with immune booster recipe I'm feeding the fish.
Matt,
How many fishes do you have in the tank? I've been doing tank transfer method on all my fishes ever since I had a ich outbreak in my display tank that wiped out 80% of my fish.
The 5 remaining fishes (2 wrasses) had tons of ich covering their body and looked like they wouldn't make it. I pulled them and did tank transfer method in 5gal home depot buckets with heater and airstone. They recovered and have been ich free for 2 months now.
Depending on how many fishes you have, tank transfer method with 5gal buckets is really easy to do, even on sensitive fishes. I've been doing tank transfer method (with formalin dips on transfer day) on all fishes I get. None have ever shown any signs of ich since.
I've had bad luck qt'ing wrasses with copper, chloroquine phosphate, and the metronidazole formula found on this website. The copper and chloroquine phosphate killed all my wrasses and the metro formula didn't work for me.

I pulled all my fish yesterday, what a mission. Basically had to pull all the rock to get the smaller gobies but everyone is in QT now. I'm going to treat with copper I think. I'm adding it slowly and bringing the level up over the next few days, if I see the wrasses stress then I'm going to do a major water change and start hypo after that. Fingers crossed.

Some of my coral were out of the tank longer than I expected and the water got a little cool in the tub. Most those pieces browned out a little, but look like they'll make it.

Algae is starting to back off, I picked up some emeralds to help with the bubble and hopefully the gha. I do have this new type of algae that is real weird, not sure if its dinos but it looks like brown jelly. Only on rock, not on lps though so that's good.

Corals are looking good Matt.
I've never had luck with wrasses and copper. If you want, I still have almost full bottle of cupramine and the seachem copper test kit you can have.
I live 5 mins away from you on Harbor Blvd and McFadden. Shoot me a PM if you want it.

Thanks David. I have some cupramine on hand but had someone recommend copper power as they've had good luck with it and wrasses. We shall see. Although I'm stressed on that **** QT. Shut the lights off tonight and it was all clouded up and foggy. Ammonia badge looks to be at zero but it's stressing me out big time. $600+ chilling in a stupid 40 in the garage, ahg!

I've got some water mixed but forgot the heater was unplugged. Hopefully it's just a bloom of some kind but I'll be doing a wc in the am when the temp is up.

So I played with my lighting program a bit. I'm getting lots of new growth, but it look like I've sacrificed some color over the last month on certain pieces. I've got a grip of nuisance algae so I know my no3 po4 zeroed readings are false. I plan to leave the lighting for a month and really stay on top of my weekly water changes, see if things improve.

My red planet, garf bonsai and blue (tenuis?) tabling acro seem to have made the most noticeable growth.
Red planet

Garf Bonsai

What I think is a blue tenuis? Seems to be looking to table. Lots of encrusting, but is getting some decent shoots now.

Tabling acro I got form Ellis Aquatics getting some new growth on the left side.

PC Rainbow has lots of new growth, but absolutely no color

Joe the Coral has never colored up. Always been this weird purple/pink fleshy color. Getting new growth up top though

few others

Red Dragon

I lowered my white channel intensity from 50% (14kish) during the peak hours to 35% (20kish) with UV, RB, B @ 100% during that time with R @ 37% and G @ 17%. Overall intensity has gone from a start point of 35% and slowly increased to the 55% I'm at now. I just bumped up %5 overall when I dropped the white intensity, if I notice bleaching I'll add the cloud function to the peak period to help acclimate. It's worked well in the past.

My lights sold, so I am now t5. I really like the change so far.

Updated FTS

I played with some super low ISO and high aperture settings. Large area of focus and super clear. The shutter was open so long I though the battery died mid-click!

I need to figure out how to white balance actinic t5s.

Front shot came out okay, but the top downs pulled all the blue out. I think I'll try using a sch 80 coupling instead of a sch 40 next time. If that doesn't work I may order some filter lenses.

I also linked my Gyre xf150 to my Apex via IceCap. The sps directly in front of the gyre had much more polyp extension now that its not stuck on long pulse and blasting everything constantly. I picked up a second mp40wqd I need to install. I plan to move both mp40s to the back walls so it doesn't block my view from the side.

Hi Smite, nice tank. I am looking into the SCA 100g. I currently have the 50g cube from them. You stated the dimensions of the tank as 48x24x20 LxWxH. SCA has the dimensions as 48x20x24 LxWxH. Which is correct?
Also what is your fish list?
I look forward to seeing your tank mature.

Thanks guys. Really ghappy with the switch so far :) the 8 bulb is just what I was looking for.

SCA has both sizes avaliable. I'm not sure why they don't advertise the dims I went with but I think they should. I think it would be a better seller. I only found out because I called for a quote for a custom with similar dims and he mentioned this one.

Very happy with the quality and look, specially for the price tag.

Took a few pictures today. My daughter, Charlotte, was checking out the tank as well pointing out her favorites.

Tank has gone down hill over the last month. I've been working long nights and now out of town during the week. Its a GHA title wave in there:

I did get to add my first group of fish that finished QT before I left last weekend. Its nice to have some movement back in the tank

2 B/W Percs
1 redspot cardinalfish
1 red masked goby
1 female rhomboid
1 neon goby

In 2 weeks I'll be adding my other group.
1 gold & blue midas blenny
1 red velvet wrasse
8 redspot cardinalfish
1 geometric hawkfish
1 kole eye tang - I'm assuming its stress related but when I bought this guy he was super purple. He has turned to being more red with a yellowish tail whenever I see him now. I'd like to see him get back to purple.

My plan of attack for the GHA is to get back on my weekly water change, renew carbon weekly. I'm going to remove my filter sock since I'm not here to change it enough, its been clogged when I get back and is just keeping my skimmer from functioning.

I'm also hoping to get a chance to install my Turbo - Rev 4 L2 ATS this weekend before I head out for work again.

Dude, Trochus and astera snails would take care of that. I added those and a rabbit fish and it took care of all the algae in my tank

My Kole tang will be going in sunday, so hopefully he helps with it. After all this time getting rid of ich, I'm worried about bringing something in on a CUC.

I've had some color loss on a lot of sps, but still seem to be getting steady growth. Pretty sure it was due to adding GFO to hold the GHA at bay.

Some of the sps still happyish

Red Planet

This tenuis? lost its blue but is growing at a nice rate

I really like this piece, turning a nice yellow/green

actinic + reefbrite

starting to get a pink trim under actinic + reefbrite

was getting red, then browned but lots of new growth

Still waiting on some growth in my ATS. Running 14hour light cycle at 50% intensity for now
