when it comes to this it would have to be a BBQ at a park because when it turns into a frag swap it becomes business and people come and go as they need. Nothing wrong with frag swaps but if we keep it a social event only then people will know to come hang out and not get a sweet deal and leave.
I don't mind helping set this up. I think summer/june would be nice and warm for everyone to enjoy a cookout. I know that Hemingway park pool in Rancho Dominguez can be rented out completely as I have done so before. It has an adult size pool and a 1 foot children's pool with activities in it. Its awesome for kids. It also has a third pool that is exclusively for a 3 story water slide which is awesome.
I think a SCR pool party would be awesome.

A pool party would be cool. And god knows I'm always looking for more ways to burn my sons energy lol so that will kill 2 birds. But we might as well hit the gun range too like someone mentioned earlier, because if I'm going to Compton, the magnum is coming with me haha

all of the frag swaps i've been too have been with a lot of people, but if you look at it, it was only like 10 people really hanging out and talking... everyone else that was there was there to buy and split... that's it... it sucked... more sassage for the rest... but they were kinda fail...
i know the lowrider community always has picnics and stuff, and they don't always bring their cars or crap... they just all go with their club shirts, get fat and drunk and listen to music... freaken epic... something like that should be awesome... but it always feels like reef people won't show up unless there's either a great deal, or a raffle of some sort... that kinda sucks...
next weekend i'm going to lake elsinore for a chicken meet... a bunch of us chicken people hang out in a park and swap/sell birds stuff... but after all of that is done, we walk around and discuss said chickens and other stories... it's fun... we take pictures, talk about our birds, and once it gets dark, we start to pick up and leave... it's an all day event for most of us... some won't sell anything... but it's just nice to go out and socialize with our own kind...

I used to live 2 minutes away from the oc fairgrounds. That would've been sooo perfect to do a MAX after party BBQ next month. Too bad I moved
I hear you though Steve and gumbii, I wouldn't want 100 random people in and out of my house only looking for deals anyways. Potluck would be sweet. Y'all bring sides and I'll hook up some kabobs and burgers

Also when its at someones house, no matter how generous the host is, some people dont feel comfortable showing up to a personal residence. The pool idea is great because a lot of us cant get away too often. Hemingway pool is great because it is totally enclosed and private for our party. We can bbq inside and everything. If a location is needed more towards the OC im sure we can find something like this too.
