So after doing a ton of searching and not liking the price or size of most skim mate containers out there I decided to make my own out of a OXO Good Grips container. I need to take it all apart again and clean use the paint job a bit but it's fully functional now.

haha I gotta try that! I use the same containers but for the gravity kalk dosing. Really cool. Let us know if the smell is unnoticed.

Still have not noticed any smell but I also had to remove the carbon as I had to get into it. Need to figure out a better way to put that filter on so I can still open the **** contaner.

Well, it's been some time since I have updated this thread. Some of you know I had to move back in June. My tank took a little bit of a dive right before hand as I did not have time to keep up with it and then again after the move. I was able to keep a nice little collection of corals but most of my rare SPS did not make it. That being said tank has been doing decent. I finally got the last component set back up this weekend (doser) and hopefully, it will start thriving like crazy again.

One of the issues I had after the move was my Jaboo DC12000 died on me and I picked up an M1 to replace it. Well, it did not fit in my sump that I had built for me at the beginning of the year and I had to drill it. I have to say I love this pump. I am also built an electrical cabinet next to the tank so everything is now outside which helps since all my extra space is now taken up by the M1 and plumbing. I'll have to take some photos later this week to update the thread.

PO4 .02 ppm
PH 8.02
Mag 1500 ppm
Cal 450 ppm

Temp 77.3 F
SG 1.026

Spark's 50g SPS Cube

So over the last 6 months I've lost two strains of LED's. From all my tests it seams like the drivers died on me. So this past week I finally ordered everything to redo my driver board. The first driver board way created for me from a member on here. He did a great job but in order to switch out the drivers I have to desolder them and frankly that can be a pain in the ars. So I finally took the plunge and order up a pre made board. I still have to solder all the connectors to the board which I'm fine with, but the next time I have a driver or 2 fail it will be a mater of pulling them and putting new ones in.

So this is my old driver board I've been using for 3 years. Last night I soldered the new one all up but when I hooked it up I had no lights. Hopefully this weekend I'll get some time to try again and find my electrical tester and trace down any issues. Otherwise I have a 4 driver board on its way as a back up incase this new one fails or I screw something up.

This little bubble tip was sitting in my office tank and never really was happy there. I'm sure it has to do with my lack of water changes and water quality. I decided about a month ago to bring it home so that it could grow a bit and color back up as I work on getting the water quality better at the office. When I brought it to the house it was brown, pissed off and small. Took this photo after moving its box around at bit as I was cleaning some equipment in the tank tonight.

Did some minor fragging the other day. A guy in my office building wanted my sunburst monti, spongodes and a head of my branching hammer.

So LesPaulPlayer73 :p keeps reminding me to test my water once a week. Thanks, man, water test came out perfect once again. :)

Other than that I came home tonight and jumped on apexfusion to turn my MP40's off for some reason (can't remember why) to find that my apex was not connected to them anymore. After updating my firmware and eventually disconnecting the wxm module and deleting it, I finally got both pumps reconnected to the apex. Then I decided to clean my glass since I was working on stuff and finally my sunburst monti got close enough to the glass that my magnet broke it right where I was wondering how I was going to cut it. Problem solved and I will have a frag in a few weeks. I also cut another of my spongodes montipora as it was getting close to another. Anyways that's my update for the night now off to trying to figure out wtf is going one with my LED's.

Well I finally got the new LED driver bored on the tank tonight. So nice not having my drivers soldered to my bored anymore. Bad news is my LED issues are not in the drivers like I thought they where. Looks like it's time to replace the 4 year old LED's I have and rebuild the array. Yay for fun electrical stuff!

Ugh another thing failed. Woke up this am to my apex alarming me my temperature was to low. Good thing to know is my temp is fine but my ATO does not seam to be working. I've narrowed it down to ether the control box or the float is bad as the pump is fine. Probably time to replace that as well since I've been running this same ato for the last 5 years. Thankfully they are not to expensive and or I have the components laying around to ether repair it or finally build one off my apex. Just another project.
