Good to see you got the tank home. I was thinking of your situation with getting out of the condo last weekend. It was nice to meet you. Is the stand in your house or still in the garage? I don't envy you lifting that mutha onto the stand. Good luck.

Jerry
Thanks for delivering my stand Jerry and the advice with the tank move. I was really nervous about it but it turned out okay. Saw your tank thread and it looks really nice!
o hk yea.. its has begun!!!! YYEEAAAHHHHHH baby!!!
It has more than begun my friend, its like a war zone in my house...

Wall is down, new header is up. Its not a load bearing wall but peace of mind is priceless...

The stand will not fit through the door so it has to go into place before we build up the walls. Clearing the doorway into the garage was a pain because of the plumbing, metal airvent pipes, and electrical that had to be relocated... I also pulled out the old vinyl floor and put down some easy peezy stick ons before the stand went in... Now to the pony walls come up. Kinda tough now that we have to work around the stand...

Thanks! I'm jealous of all the nice corals you have...
Following along.... can't wait for the next update! This is going to be awesome!
I'll try to keep em coming
Wait. I'm lost. Where's the wall that had the sewer pipes in it?
Sorry, camera angles are a bit confusing. That is the wall behind the stand in the last pic... Piping was removed so I could install a door since the tank will be blocking the two existing doors (one entry from inside the house and the other door exits to side yards). The side yard door is still there but can no longer be opened. Now access to rear of tank will be from garage only.

It's staying, too muh work to close it up. Just wish it would swing open, instead of into the house. Can I simply just switch the hinges to the other side of the door to do this?

You can certainly switch the hinges and strikeplate but security becomes an issue. It's very easy to break in with the hinges on the outside because you simply pop out the hinge pins and the door comes off. But honestly, if someone wanted to break in they could just bust the window with less effort. There are security type hinges (non-removable pin) you could also use.

You would also need to switch the door stop moulding. On newer homes the door stop is actually part of the shaped jamb and cannot be removed. Your door looks older and the door stop is most likely a separate moulding which you can simply remove and nail back the opposite way. You might want to use a utility knife to cut the paint before you pry it off.

All together, with the right tools, this should be about an hour project.

Thanks evad1!

Just drilled 5 holes in my eurobrace after dinner...

I know, tank looks a mess... I scraped the back glass and cleaned the overflow box with vinegar, but am scared to scratch the viewing panels, so I'm gonna wait till its full of
Water to clean it.

Thanks so much!
Great looking build, following along.

Stryker, any chance you were part of SCNRS years ago?
I was mostly on RC, and joins SCR when it started. I did cruise scnrs occasionally as there were some amazing tanks on there. I have a nano set up now in the garage for qt.

Thanks! Don't wanna disappoint...
Great progress, you will be done in no time!
Thanks for
The help Charles!

I'm just excited to get this thing rolling! I figure the faster it gets past the messy setup. The quicker
We get to enjoy the tank.
