Awesome build! Welcome back.
Thanks Jose! Good to see ur still
In the hobby!
So have you thought about a display fuge? Your sump is way tooo sexy to keep it all locked up behind that wall...maybe a little trap door to gain access to the display fuge?
Display fuge is an innovative
Idea James! I like how u think. Had I met you earlier, it would have been incorporated, but now it seems likes big project to get done. Perhaps in the future, when the tank is humming...

Furniture dollies are great. We rolled the tank in from the backyard...

roll, roll, roll...

lift, lift, lift... big thanks to the newtothis and umass!

unwrapped and lit with some leds for fun...

this was last week, since then I have filled the tank with water and did some plumbing...

question... anybody know how to cut down the teeth on the center overflow? I want to lower the water level a good 1" since it is really high right now and I have plans to run a wavebox. what tools do I use?

dremel with a metal cut off wheel, looking good!
I was thinking of using a dremel to make the vertical cuts, but the cut off wheel is too big to make the 1/2" horizontal cuts between the teeth. Router is prob the tool of choice but how do I keep the teeth lines straight? How do the acrylic fabricators make the teeth so nice?
Holy Smokes..... I want to be you!

Can't wait to see more!
Thanks for the kind words, i am just another ambitious reefer trying to build a successful reef.
Looks great Terry!
Thanks Go for the sand! Good to meet you!

That's what I'd be worried about using a dremel to cut the teeth out... If I did it it would look terrible. It will work but may not be pretty.

Are you able to black out the left side so you can't see the door going outside? Just a thought, looks great either way nicely done.

Thats a good idea, I would like to black out... Was thinking of making some black acrylic panels that I can attach/detach to the back and side wall... It's nice to have it clear to work on the tank, but the tank doesnt look as clean.

Some small magnets glued to the corners of the sides you want to black out would maybe do the trick? I agree would be nice to remove for cleaning etc.

I think the acrylic shops laser cut the pieces, at least that's how my weir was made.

Yeah, maybe cut to size acrylic Panels with tabs that can fit onto my eurobrace... Wheels are turning...
Looks awesome I think. Lots of flow underneath, has variation, really nice. Do you use mortar or they just stacked?
I started off glueing them together with hydraulic cement, so the left structure is solid. Then I got impatient and started stacking the middle and right sections...
