Yeah when I had my incident mine shot to 9.3. Wc brought it down to 8.5

Yeah 3ml of acid is far less scary than the NoPoX I used to dose. crap smelled like nail polish remover (because it was).

BTW - what kit do you have that measures to 9.3? Was it blue? (the result, not the kit)

BTW - Knowing chemistry doesn't mean I don't neglect my tank for weeks and then work on it when I'm drunk. Sometimes 2+2=22. You know how that goes right?

Lesson learned. tank has never fluctuated more than .2 pH before - Ordering pH probe tomorrow.

I turn the lights on (I have a reverse day/night cycle) This allows me to save$$ in electricity, and also I am home at night, I want to see my tank before I go to sleep and when I wake. (it's like a xmas tree, only ..cooler) Then I gazed at it for an hour or so. Time flies when you have a tank.

Yeah, because I've NEVER seen any of the the posts where someone's regulator or solenoid goes bad and turns their tank into an acid pool.

Everything seems ok - some SPS looks good, some is STNing (but I had that problem before). Softies and LPS seem fine as do the fish. ALK was back down to 9.3 dKH yesterday so I turned the dosers back on.

Everything seems ok - some SPS looks good, some is STNing (but I had that problem before). Softies and LPS seem fine as do the fish. ALK was back down to 9.3 dKH yesterday so I turned the dosers back on.

No fail safe through apex equals failure. I have 0 fail safe if I was on vacation, if my inner reactor acidity went lower than 6.50.
Besides the feed pump goes off and the co2 turns off. Which means, yep that alk and calcium would dip and in 3 days I would have the nice, all fish, softy tank, to enulate Sanhs hero LL chorrrro queefs.
