I did have a booth reserved, but after the ad campaign came out & my banner was not listed in the ad brochure, nor was there one picture of my booth in the many taken, I decided it was in my best judgement to not participate in this show. I wasn't getting the same advertising as the rest of the vendors, so why should I pay the same price for a booth.
he doesn't like you....you need to book a $3000 booth to get the respect.

I am wondering how the larger store like OCaquatic, wetthumbfrags...etc when they paid big money for their booth and later to find out that others paid much less at the end.

Good example, hobbiest booth was like $100 each at the end they got upgraded to a $800-1000 booth. They also can sell frags or whatever they want, so the larger store got screwed.

Expect lesser in 2010. I have 2 advices for the LFS, book your booth at the end or book a hobbiest booth and at the end your booth probably gets a free upgrade. This save you lot of money.

Hey, I heard that MAX organizers were giving out free Elvis impersonators with every booth!

Oh wait.....wait......I got it

Hey, I heard that MAX organizers were giving out free dates with Brittany spears with every booth!

Oh wait.....wait......(ew)

Quite frankly, our pricing schedule is none of your business

We GIVE away a great number of booths too. At least a dozen or so in fact.

How 'bout you hold your breath for me until I give you one?

(nyuck nyuck)

This is to repond to Kevin question and concern on the other thread that was closed before I saw it.

Kevin for you, I compared you to a piece of used toilet paper that stuck on the bottom of my shoe.

Kevin - as far as I know, your freshwater expo was a failure, your marine expo is getting less vendors this year then last and I expecting it will be for next as well.

I will continue to support you and whenever I have a chance I make sure the customers and other vendor know about you and your tactic.

Take your show somewhere else because my store and I personally don't need your show to survive and it's already show with this last event. Instead of paying $800-$2000 for a booth and 2 days of hard work. I will use MAX to my adventage by having sale and showing up at MAX to buy items at close out or at discount price like I did with this last show. I call it a win and win situation without losing any money and time.

Lie ? which part ? don't you personally ask me for my permission to put my business name on the floorplant and we will talk later ? I am sure you probably doing the same with other vendors. Kevin - that is common sense because you need business name on that floorplan in order for you to sell, if the floorplan is empty noone will go. You can't sell at for higher price.

Another business 101 lession for you scum - I don't rely on 1 supplier or certain product to stay alive in this business. I also can buy that particilar product from 10 different suppliers. So if one supplier stop supplying me with their product, I can buy that same product from the other 9 suppliers. So far I am about to pull a plug on some of the products. The suppliers need us the retailers and us the retailers need our customers. I take care my suppliers and I take good care of my customers.

For your show, we don't need you, you need us. The more of us sign up the more it would attract attendee. The less of us sign up the lesser the vistors coming to your show. This number is already showing this year, less vendors = less attendee and the important thing is less hobbiest talking about MAX.

But again I will continue to support you and your show next year.

Trust me this isn't new info for me; Ive figured this out long ago. There is a reason why we book early and pay the higher price. Booking early has its advantages and disadvantages and so does booking late. Its working well for us right now but when it isnt anymore then well change our tactics.
