Hey guys,
I don't know what is going on with my zoanthids. Everything was going great and now some of my zoanthid's mouth is like protruding outwards. Almost like the zoanthids is like trying to invert itself from the mouth. Some zoanthids is closed but the mouth is sticking way out. I don't see any zoanthid predators and it has been a week. If someone can relate and also cure/treated it, please let me know. Please a reefer out because I am like ripping out my hair trying to surf the internet about my situation. Thanks in advance. Oh, my water quality is good.

I will try that. Do you just crush Vitamin C and put it in water??? Also, I'm more concern with my Zoanthids looking like umbrellas becuase the mouth is protruding like it is trying to invert itself. strange, very strange.

No, do not just crush VitC. There are products out there, but I went with the Sodium Ascorbate because there are many threads out there and you get a discount on your first purchase from iherb.com This product is also 100% pure buffered Vitamin C. Search for some threads on it because you do need to make sure your pH is at a certain level, and there are dosing amounts depending on why you are using it.

I would recommend you to not move them and dip them, just do carbon and water changes. My nightmares colony were doing that like 3 months ago, i had about 30 polyps and half of them melted away but as soon as i did a water change and carbon , they're start recovering. Now they're doing great. Sometimes the alk, cal, or mag levels are not good and thats why they're start acting like that.

Also if you're thinking on dosing Vitamin C, you would need to check you ALK level and PH first., I used to dose Vitamin C but i start having ALK issue and i stopped dosing. I hope you have a better luck with it.

Thx liz, but what do you mean by dip. Like a freshwater dip? if so how long and do I need to make sure the temperature of the water is the same??

I say to not dip the zoanthids/palys, if you do that; they'll stress out even more, what kind of zoanthids/palys are they?

you need to test your water again.... has anything else in the tank died or disapeared? could be ammonia spike, lack of strontium, or lack of food. DO U FEED THEM BIOPLANKTON OR ANYTHING?

I don't feed the zoanthids. I thought all they need is light.
