Can't believe some of us continue to frag these corals without gloves & especially eye protection.
This is not the first paly poisioning thread

So who's gonna go by and check on the pirate? It's been 24hrs since he's posted anything... something must be terribly wrong :/

I got hydrocodone and some antibiotic drops, and some drops that are for eye pressure.

About 3 hours after I got squirted by the Hawaiian paly it's was burning awful. Literally burned and scratched my eye tissue. I finally got some relief from some lithocaine drops that is used in a prolonged way can be toxic. (Reason I mention that was the Intern gave the entire bottle to me.) the specialist opthomologist told the dude "your not giving that to him cause in large amounts it can be lethal." Other guy, "um no I wasn't."

So my dream came true, I'm a real pirate. Try not to soil yourselves

Guesstimate in full sight coming Back is 3-20 days.

Side effects; burning sensation in parts of the eye. Desire to tear your eye out. Nausea, sight is severely impaired, dizziness, certain things tastes like mineraly, constant thirst for water, head ached like migraines, light hurts even when eyes are closed. Affected the way I see out of the good eye, makes vision distorted and blurry. Constant mucus in the eye. Eye sticks and you just want to sleep to not deal with the pressure in the eye that feels like its coming out the socket.
this also showed up. It feels like someone hit me with a burning bat. This is above my elbow on the inside arm.

All in all, it's been quite the lesson. Hopefully someone documents it and makes this a good sticky, cleaned up obviously.

Btw all the doctors looked at me cray cray when I said palyathoa. "Coral what??" What a day!

Glad your OK.........:) Hope your patch is black as tan doesn't have the same look....lol
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Please wear eye wear when handling palys or zoas. I lost a day of work and worse I can't even see half the time. I just took the mess and that's when I can see, about an hour after it gets super blurry.

Happy Reefing everyone! If this is the worst thing that happens to me in this hobby, I can deal with it no problem!

Wow! That sucks! Hope it's more like 3 days. Scary stuff those pretty little ocean flowers are!

I agree with Spinner...if the patches look like the one on the kid in the pic, you definitely gonna need to paint them black cuz those tannish ones look pretty lame for a pirate. I bet your kids would agree.
