Hey Everybody -
Just wanted to introduce myself: my name is Jimmy and have a 10 gallon setup. I'm still learning the hobby, AS I GO ALONG, which isn't necessarily the best way to learn, but its a way to learn none the less. In other words, if I get the terminology wrong, or not give the proper names...pardon me, as I am N0ob.
How I started:
My sister had a 60 gallon freshwater a few years back, so I had an idea of what needed to be done. So I decided, after all the reading, was a simple 10 gallon setup. I read all the pro's and con's of a 10 gallon, but price wise, it was in my budget. A local shop in Long Beach just opened up, so I went in and they were very nice. I ended up getting 1 live rock, 2 clown fish, and 1 firefish. The protein skimmer I purchased was a Rio Nano Skimmer (please hold all negative comments). This was back in January of this year.
3 months later, a death of one clownfish, and the addition of a diamond goby, orangetail damsel...my tank seems pretty decent.
As of now, I'm working on DIY LED lights. I did some tests and my first batch was great..kind of ghetto but worked.
