8 feet of crystal clear water. Having issues with the tank and I think I know what it might be. When I was transferring the lights I dropped a washer and couldn’t find it. I may have to pull the rocks out and go fishing with a magnet.
Nope. Took out 10 gallons of cheatomorpha out of my sump so I’ll look there next. I also have live rock for the new tank down there. I did get some couprisorb to see if it’ll pull anything.
My other thought is that maybe my lights are turned up too high for a ULNS. I turned down my kessils to 25% and my reefbrites to 10%
Yeah I checked Kessil AP9X with a par meter. At 8" deep set at 35% there were spots were I was getting 350+. Down about 15" deep I was still getting 200-250 and 20" deep on the sand bed around 120-150. The Kessil lights really penetrate the water well.
Just saw your post above that you didn't find the washer. Just FYI, if you used 304 stainless steel washers, they will not stick to magnets if that is how were trying to find it.
I think my trace elements are all out of whack because of the cheato growing so fast and there was so much of it. I did a 200 gallon water change over a week and that seams to have helped. I need to send in an icp to make sure.
What ever trace elements my carx media has is what I dose haha. I do add an iron tablet every other week.
I think that was what my problem was. I had my fuge at 12/12 photo period and the macros grew too fast and stripped essential trace elements. I ended up removing 10 gallons of macro and changed my photo period to 4 hours
