Is this Riblet? Looks shady...hahaha
Right?! But once you get to know him he's a great guy. He's been super helpful throughout and quite a bit of the items in my build are from him including the rocks.

Omar your painting skills are outstanding!

On a serious, note the tank is looking nice... I would suggest mixing in just a small amount of more natural looking rock so once the coraline grows and colors it would look really nice. Up to you though its really what you like.
Thanks man! Gotta love gel stain...makes a schlep like me look like a finish carpenter, lol. Actually woodworking is one of my many hobbies.

From what Riblet told me the rocks will purple up pretty fast. I don't know about adding new rock although I may add some temporarily for seeding. I just want as much sand available as possible for clams and I like the sparse look of the rock. I do have some space on the front right so I may add another 5-10lb rock there like I said for seeding.

I'll take this as confirmation that things look great and I am a painting a Picasso with paint.

All you need is a couple lbs of good rock that has Multiple colors of coralline algae on it. The white spots were coralline after just A few weeks with a 1lb seed rock

Sorry bro that I couldn't help with the lift. But it's looking good
Thanks Mike, no worries. Thanks for letting me hit you up at random times for sump configuration ideas. Im gonna baffle that thing todayhere goes nothing...

It was Actually an easy lift.
Im glad one of us felt that way, lol.

Yeah, Im gonna try to get like 3-4 fist size rocks an put one close to each structure. That ought to be enough for seeding methinks.

Just finished the plumbing. First time working with PVCnot bad.

Lights hung.

I think I'm now seeing what you guys mentioned about the tall pillar. I didn't mind it being tall but it does mushroom at the top and block light to lower coral. Because of where the alcove ends the light hangs farther back over the tank than right in the middle but I think that'll be fine so long as that rock gets cut down a bit.

Slow going these days on the build. I'll finish the plumbing when the sump is in. I'll be out of town for a few days so that'll give the baffles plenty of time to cure. I actually need to take a few more inches off the front of the stand so that the sump will fit. I'll be cleaning sand and getting that in there next. Washing sand...yaaaaay!

Looking good Omar. If you like the pillar leave it. Don't worry about what other people think. It's your tank
Thanks. I like it but I see what you were talking about. Basically it means that spot would be relatively bare. You can see that it's dark all along the front. I may switch that and the small pillar so that there's more diagonal light on it. Or cut it.

Sump baffled thanks to Six2Seven. Thanks Steve!

I'm going to let this cure for a full week. So next Tuesday it should be ready. My return pump should get delivered today and that should be the last of what I need to get this bad boy wet. I still have 150lbs of sand to wash and 145g of saltwater to make which I'll do next week. I'm really considering just having the water delivered for this first fill but daaaamn it's like $1.25/g. As it stands it'll take me like 2 days to make enough water...

Sickk get this beauty wettt... as for the pillar I think it would make for a good medium to low light spot for certail corals... didn't see what your stocking plans are
