Your tank looks so good dude. I hope my system can look as healthy as yours when it matures.
Thanks man. This tank established much quicker than my others since I used rock straight out of my 180g tear down. It's really starting to fill in now!

When is that doomsday frag ready?? Lol
Hahah my bad dude I'll cut it and let you know. It needs a trim for sure!

I'll probably wait for the weekend since I just had that swing in DKH. I don't want to cause anything to stress right now.

Tank is looking great! The UV is taking off, kinda like my confetti. How are the halides treating you? I had to postpone my switch until later this month, hopefully.

Yeah it's really starting to grown now. I plan to leave it as much space as possible in the next build and just let it grow. I'm gonna need to save that pinky bear acro it's trying to take over.

Absolutely love the switch. I've been running the xho strips about 12 hours a day now and the tank seems to love it. I prefer the whiter look but I feel like I get better coverage this way since I scaped so wide. Only time will tell but I feel like color is better than before too.

Yeah, 14k’s are the best of both worlds, growth and color. I can’t wait until I make the switch.

Man, I didn't think it was possible due to size but the chaoti wrasse went for a ride into the weir box of my overflow. He was too large to actually make it into the bulkheads completely. I saw his tail sticking out of the bulkhead when I went looking for him and thought he was a goner. I pried the weir out a bit in front of the bulkhead and was able to get him to push into the rear box and catch him. I released him and he swam around, fed the tank and he nibbled then shot into the sand.....fingers crossed he's okay. His gills look spread out a bit but he was breathing heavily, I just hope there was no damage done. Luckily it's a thick coated fish, lots of feather dusters and stuff to get scratched up on in there. All his fins looked to be mobile while he swam around for a short while so hopefully he pulls through.

that's a bummer, i'm shocked a decently sized wrasse could fit in there

my sharknose goby went in mine when i first put him in the tank. luckily he was easily caught

yikes. Mid day and no sign of the Chaoti. I’ve checked everywhere in the system minus the sand bed. Hopefully it’s just resetting in there. Normally one of the first ones up.

So i've been watching the spot in the sand. It looked weird because a piece of sand was apparently floating. Now as flow has moved more of the sand there is clearly a few pieces hovering on what looks like a large bubble, its completely transparent. I took my view finder and looked down. I can clearly see part of the wrasse' pattern through the bubble. I've never noticed this before. The bubble appears to be about an 3/4-1" above the wrasse judging by the spec of sand on top.

Is this how they actually sleep under the sand or is this a sign of decomposition? I'll post a picture but my zoom doesn't do enough of my phone.

that's weird

i know wrasses that don't sleep in the sand form a mucus cocoon to sleep in, idk if sand burying ones do that tho
That's what threw me off. I wonder if they do as well? It might make sense, it would give them a little room to start to wiggle/swim out. I'd imagine if they got packed tight maybe they cant start the motion?
