Hey Eric,
Don't sell it dude. If anything sell the livestock and keep the equipment, that way you can start it back up when your life calms down a bit. If you sell your tank, you will regret it.
You'll be kicking yourself in the a$$.
As someone who's gotten out and is waiting impatiently to get back in, I can't agree with this more. If you have a place to stash the tank, sell your livestock, clean your gear well and throw it all into the tank in a corner somewhere. This hobby gets into your blood and doesn't leave easily. UNLESS this is part of forcing an upgrade in the future. :)

That aside, if it were 7' long, this would be my entry back into the hobby...

Me too! Emac helps without asking anything in return really nice guy.
Even though he's a douche...
I'm in on the fundraiser if he decides to go that route.
Hell, I have a used dart pump I picked up a while back that he can have. Don't know how well it works but it's worth a shot

Thanks guys I really do prescient all the offers. I'm really am swing to let it go. There comes a time when some one has to say enough is enough. And say I do take a donation, it's only a bandaid to the fix and I'm not one for bandaid. Will sense I didn't sleep well last night and I got a stupid busy day today. With a bday party and trying to get the return pump fixed.

To those that say I'll regret it. To late I regret breaking down the 180. The 180 was starting to get bitchin right b4 I took it down.

Eric just take a deep breath think it over another week and if you feel the same then let her go. Sometimes we do thing in the spare of the moment, and some times its the wrong move. That is a beautiful set up you have there and will definitely regret it! Ever think of down sizing?

Bro I've heard u say this not to long ago.
Ok so I got the return up and running went to the hardware store and found a $2 rubber seal that was the same size as the old seal. Then I slapped some rubber silicone on the threads of the pump. Then tightened envy thing down and let it cure for a few hours. Well it's holding and no more leak.
Ok so I told the wife I put the tank up for sale and let's just say I'll b sleeping on the couch for a while (if I'm lucky). I think she wants me in the dog house.
So I found a bottle of lanthanum chloride that mike gave me. I'm going to see if I can get the po4 down here in the next few weeks. Im sorry for putting all my BS out there in the open and I appreciate the offers from everyone. U guys are a great group of people even after I recently had doubts in the direction the forum was going. You guys/gals always step up when someone needs a pick me up.
I'm still undecided if I'm selling or not. I'm so frustrated with the whole system but I love the fish like there my kids and want to see if I can get baby chromis's and mandarin's soon. I have thought about down sizing but the statement is so true "the bigger the system the easier it is to maintain" the sad part is the higher the costs add up too. And at this point in life with my sons dr. Apts and speech therapy for his autism I just don't have the time to spend on a smaller tank.

Emac, I've been following your thread since it started and I didn't care to respond because I just thought to myself.. "he won't quit".

You might hold the #1 spot on the D-bag list but your a real cool dude. don't get rid of your tank. you'll regret it and end up spending more setting a new one up cuz lets face it, you're hooked for life. So make it a fish only, or get down and dirty for a couple days with tank maintenance. Then take care of your family and we'll all be here to take your rants. peace brother.

Was reading some stuff on LC dosing. People were saying its best to slowly dose it right into a filter sock. If you don't, the crud just stays in the tank. I would do a little research before using it. A lot of guys have great results with it, but there's a certain way it needs to be dosed. Good luck brotha

Go with your gut, if it's time to take a break so be it, but if I were you I would part out, more hassle but in the end more money, I met you and your son when I broke down my tank,( you brought that big purple haze piece from me) so I know your situation with him, family always comes first, you will be surprised how much time and money you will save to attend to his and your family's needs when you break down, and when the time comes you can get back in, the friends you've made in this hobby will still be here even though you don't have a tank and you will still be welcome on the boards, clubs and events, God Bless You and your family.
