Gallons per hour is one thing. The amount of water you have to push is completely different. Its like a honda civic on a flat ground vs a honda civic going over the grape vine towing something.

Only thing I can suggest is trying a different reactor or maybe change the pellets brand.

bio pellet question. Reactor plays a large role as well as the pump.

This is true regarding preference. My reactor is pretty full so 3/4 of the pellets tumble very slow.

I've had the two little fishes mod, REef octopus, and aquamaxx. Aquamaxx is by far the better design IMO . Plus no extra chord or pump to run it since it's on a manifold.

bio pellet question. Heavy to me is chefs frozen food, reef Roids , coral frenzy, pellets, oyster feast and more sometimes daily all on 180 gallon total water with 20 fish.

If you run gfo with pellets you hender the bio pellets productivity. Once I said F it and took gfo offline. Phosphate and nitrate have been 0 and I feed like crazy.
