I have started Prodibio, going on 4 weeks now so def. not an expert on it. I can say the it is NOT the same as dosing vodka. As I understand it Vodka and/or sugar dosing are to provide carbon source, ie. food/energy to initiate and sustain a bacterial bloom. That in itself is great however you may have minimal control over what strains are growing. In addition without following a rather stringent (as far as what I have read) set of guidlines, or alot of trial and error, you may end up with a single or mono-strain of bacteria, ie. one that has out-competed the others.

Prodibio could be consider to be more like Zeovit or similar systems except, you are not culturing beneficial bacteria, you are instead just adding them, providing supplementation for them and invertebrates/micro fauna with other prodibio additives. Does it work ? wish I could tell you , I do believe water clarity has increased and I do know it makes my skimmer go crazy. I believe sps coloration is improving, but again its only been 4 weeks for me so I cannot make any definitive statements. I am currently using Reef Booster, Bio Optim and Bio Digest

For a better insight into this product and how/if it works and what benefits you might obtain I would suggest that you pm gcarroll. I understand he has been using this for a bit of time now and I know he can give you a whole lot more information

I have been using prodibio off and on (currently on) for a couple of years now. I like the fact that the dosing is only once per week rather than daily. Sandman's description was perfect describing how the method works.

If I were to give you advice, I would say start slowly and if you are in doubt how much to dose, always choose the lower dosage. This is not a miracle cure but more of a tweeking tool. Also Make sure you have a large efficient skimmer. All pobiotic filtration methods require this to export the nutrient laden bacteria.

I have been using Prodibio (BioDigest, Bioptim, Reefboooster) for approximately 8 weeks now. I do use it conjunction with a Carbon Source (Zeostart2) which I dose in extremely low amounts daily. I am starting slowly and can say my water is clearer and I do get nasty skimmate. Colors are much improved but not where I want them to be....yet. I have 6 month supply and will see where it takes the tank..

I run mine with GFO. A little tip on improving color. Do half the recomendation of reefbooster until coral colors begin to lighten and gain color. After that you can start to increase the dosage.

always error to the side of caution and dose less rather than more than recomended. Only bad things happen fast in this hobby.

So, for start-up, Prodibio recommends 1 amp:60l for BioDigest. Is this every dosage every 15 days also & how realistic is this since are tanks are not cycling?

Im thinking about dosing 1 amp:80 gals for the first month, then backing off to the maintenance dosing schedule after. Is this OK?

My recommendation for water volumes less than 150 - 175 gallons
I recomend when starting dose one amp each of Biodigest and Bioptim weekly for 6 weeks.

After that dose one amp of Beach of Biodigest and Bioptim bi-weekly, also begin dosing one amp of Reefbooster weekly
