You guys turn off your skimmer when dosing Bioclean? I only turn it off for ReefBooster. Should I be shutting it off for Bioclean also?

I have started to notice more "hazy" type algae on my glass. Its a very fine light green algae that I have to use the magnet to brush off. I also had Richard do a phosphate test with his Hanna instrument and phosphates measured .22. Should I increase the dosage or frequency of the bioclean? I am currently dosing the clean every other week at 1 amp each. I do weekly water changes and Phosar HC is still running.Should I skim heavier, if possible? I just changed all the media/filters in my RO unit to hopefully eliminate any problems there. Any suggestions?

Thank you,
Brock

Dang Brock, 5 in the morning, really?!?

It's prob your RO water thats causing the algae. Just do some frequent WC's with the new RO & it'll go away over time. No need to up your dosage to battle it.

Ok, I will just keep the dosage the same. Hopefully it will correct itself.

I remember reading somewhere that some people dose before doing a water change.Would you guys recommend dosing optim/digest and booster then do a wc or do the wc then dose? Does it make a difference?

Haven't had any updates to this thread in a while.

How are you guys doing with Prodibio.

Also wondering how many are running Phosphate Removal Media + Carbon along with it.

I was reading that using Phosphate Removal Media + Carbon is counterproductive to the methods of Zeovit. Since Prodibio is also a form of biological bacteria, would removing Phosphate Removal Media & Carbon recommended?

I am still running PhosarHC. I am a little leary of taking it offline. GCarroll says to keep it online so I will continue to use it. Everything is going well so far. I am still experiencing a little bit of hazy light brown algae on the glass. Corals are starting to get more color as well. Keep your fingers crossed. :)
