Looks pretty powerful but in real life you're not going to want to deal with the noise and salt creep caused by those bubbles. I'd love to see and hear it with it set low enough not to create bubbles.

My Tank Build

Dam u guys are fools. My return was off witch dropped my water level a half inch. This was to get the bubbles to show u how much water it pushes. Watch the first vid. Half way through that vid I turn my return on. Then see how many bubbles there are.

just to be clear that is the return pump coming on half way thru not the prototype
About half way thru u will see a small poof of bubbles and hear some glurping. That's the return kicking on. Then about 20 sec later the riptide kicks on. U can tell when the riptide kicks on by the top of the water and how turbulent it gets.

My Tank Build
#50
So a few days ago I moved my mp60s around. One of them I took off the tank completely. The other one I put about 2 inches from the water line on the peninsula end of the tank. Last night I made a little vid of the riptide and one mp60 going heads up.
When the video starts both pumps are at 50%. Me running across is when I turn the pumps up to a 100%

my only concern is that all my corals will only be swaying in one direction. have you noticed that to be the case?

That's why I think using one with mp40 would be good, one on the back wall to get that undertow and mp's on the side to get that random flow.

I like your thinking on this David. A couple mp40's to push crap up and then the riptide to deliver it to my corner overflow. Ok, i am sold.

That's what I'm going to one mp one each side and the largest riptde on the back wall, that should work nice on a 250

I have a peninsula tank so I am planning on mounting the riptide to the eurobrace opposite end of the overflow but facing the overflow while my 6105's are on the side of the overflowing blowing towards the riptide.

That's the perfect setup for a peninsula!

that controller is nice! I wish the cable was longer than the mp40 so I can put everything inside the stand.

At MACNA I was told you can hook up two as slave/master. My thought on my upcoming build is one horizontal on one end and one vertical on the other.
