New to algae scrubber, Is there a foul smell having one your sump?

No. When u clean them is when they stink. When u scrap the algae off the screen it smells like an emptying reef tank. U know when u drain a tank u get that strong algae smell. That's what the scrubber smells like when u clean it.

So I just finished filling the reactor

And I put a new co2 tank on line on Tuesday the 8/18/5. I want to see how long they last by recording the dates.

Well spur of the moment buy a little bit of go when I went to get a new cal test kit. I came home with this guy.

I watched him for a half an hour he was constantly picking at the rocks in the tank at the pet shop. So I decided to grab him. I'm hoping he'll take care of my Aiptasia problem.

You had great success with the last one. I can't try another one. My sailfin just hammers them. Maybe I'll try one in the fish only. Whenever I set that up lol

The key for me last time was to have enough food on the rocks for him to feed off while I get him to learn how to feed of frozen mysis.

Nice. I have 2 cbb's in qt eating mysis. I thought I'd be a man about it and throw them in my frag tanks to get the few aiptasias I have, but turned into a wuss when it was time to do so. I'm scared they will start eating coral. Lol.

Well good for me I'm a dirty pirate and homie was in my tank after drip acclimating for 2 hours.

Sorry no photos. But I have scrapped it once already. I also did put a cfl bulb on it to see if it makes a difference in algae growths. For the tank I'm seeing a little dent in that red algae. It's starting to go away off the glass bottom, but I'm not seeing any difference on the rocks yet.

Ok I got around to taking a few pics. It seems the ats is helping fight the red turf algae. I dont see signs of the rta coming of the rocks yet but it is coming off the glass bottom.
