What's your list of equipment you have currently? What are you aware of that you do need? Whatever you're missing we can fill you in on the rest of whatever you might have forgotten or are not yet aware of.

Welcome Eric! Scr advertises on craigslist? How long have you had your tank up & running? Is it still cycling or have you already added some livestock? Definitely post up some pics & a lot of equipment & anything else you think we might need to know to help get you on your way to a gorgeous tank! :)

Sounds good but best piece of advise I can give you is don't believe what a lfs tells you. Their main objective is to make money. We have some pretty good sponsors on here, though. :)
Any fish or just inverts so far?

EDIT: Sorry I just saw your list... For some reason it hadn't appeared on my screen but I refreshed & there it was...

Welcome to the forum E. What is your question? Or is this your intro.?

Like Lindsey said a lot of LFS will not be as kind as others. There are some good sponsors on here. Obviously take that with a grain of salt.

Everyone and I mean everyone has a degree of flaw in this hobby. What works for me will not always work for you.

One thing that is a resource on here is asking questions about concerns and things you need to be learned on.

Craigslist has a lot of shady folk on it and some deals. But the deals are usually not as good as they say. Buy off other hobbyists in the forums. If you buy equipment buy new and buy quality.

Good luck and please ask well thought out questions.

If you're gonna want to do coral, you're gonna need a test kit for calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, & phosphates. I'd ditch the strips if I were you... They're not very accurate. I had terrible luck with api, but a lot of people use their kits & like them ok. The price is definitely better than salifert or red sea pro.

ok as far as calcium , alk, mag , and phospate what are the parameters that i would idealy have to have the for a successful coral tank?

thanks lindsey ... the tank originaly started from a 20g hex than a 30g finally a 55g for now... it was a small project built for my brother and me ... we built the custom canopy that wraps around the back of the tank down to the stand in order to be able to hide all the plumbing and wires ;.... it also has two fans that i added for the summer incase it would get to hot in there but so far so good havent had a problem ... ill see if i can add some more pix from the beginning
