Hey Nik, what % are you running the leds? Asking because as much as I loved my ATI light, i noticed that unless i ramped up the leds more than 50%, the t5's really outshined the leds and i got no shimmer in my tank which for me is a must have in a sw tank.

**update**

IMG_1004.jpg IMG_1005.jpg IMG_1006.jpg IMG_1007.jpg IMG_1008.jpg Okay, here's an update:

After not liking any of my aquascape ideas I decided I would put a frag rack in until I came up with something, thanks Tony for making me that. Now I've got an idea but I'll wait till my corals grow some more. I was fighting some diatoms and drop in salinity from using an uncalibrated refractometer but now things have been pretty stable for past month or so. I added a few more fish with some more coming. I still have some burnt tips from correcting the salinity too fast but its getting better. Most of my coral came from steve garret. His sps are strong, I'm surprised I haven't killed anything yet.

I'm glad I went with the ati t5 hybrid. Its a fantastic light and the colors I'm getting are great. I highly recommend the geissman lagoon blue bulb, nice crisp white light with a hint of blue. I also added two buildmyled actinic LED strips, awesome lights adds more pop but I only run them at night after the ati turns off.

Really cool light hanger great seeing out of the box thinking on builds:) I have owned several of Jeff's skimmers and have a like new XRC 250 w/1262 now to use when my two 4" x 36" air stone skimmers can't keep up with my future bio load:) all of them have been quality kick butt skimmers with great customer service.
Your build is coming along nicely!

thank you! Yeah Jeff has been really great to deal with. I like the fact that this can be run in or out sump and that water level wont affect its performance. I ordered the XRC 1000.4, with the option of adding the 5th 1262.

Jesus that's a huge skimmer. Isn't your tank only 250g? That skimmer says it's rated for a 800+ gallon SPS tank.
Any reason why u went with that versus a bubble king? Having 4 separate pumps seems like it could be a maintenance head ache.

I've got 600-650 gallons of water with the sumps. I wanted room to expand. I like the recirculating design and RD is local so if there are any problems I wont have to ship. The pumps come off easily and I don't have to run them all at the same time. I plan on keeping two off during the day. Apparently turning off a few pumps during the day produces more skimmate overall. I'm not sure why but I have seen the results.
